Pros

Xactly does have the best product in the marketplace Most of the executive staff including the CEO are strong.

Cons

After being here awhile all I can say is that the previous negative reviews are spot on. Our largest office has the least amount of quota reachers which is scary. Reps just aren't happy and it's really executive sales management to blame. Territories are horribly designed and totally unfair and nothing is done about it. Literally 2-4 people in each segment actually doing well because they get fed everything while the rest are written off as bad hires. And speaking of bad hires, they have fired one executive after another only to put even less qualified talent to run the whole sales organization. And there's maybe one middle manager who is an asset to their team. Xactly is also very cheap and comp is well below market for all but a handful who have relationships with people who matter. And no surprise its those who are given the best accounts Also very disturbingly, the hiring decisions are becoming very shallow as every hire "looks" the same. There is a preference for a homogenous sales team. What diversity? It's unacceptable for only a small handful of AE's hitting their number and worse if you promote the executives who are responsible for the downward trend. What your are doing is clearly not working!

Thank you for the feedback. I can see how you're frustrated and please know I invite all employees to discuss or vent their frustrations with an open-door policy (I don't have an office door). Should a direct conversation be less desirable our HR partners are world-class and can address concerns. I would encourage you to act on these concerns vs 'suffer in silence' and miss your objectives. Further, we are proud of the meritocracy at Xactly and will continue to reward high performances. While it may appear select individuals earn or "get" more, we set quotas accordingly and leverage technology to allocate valuable assets and resources. Your feedback is valuable and will think of new ways to be more transparent while doing what's best for the business. - All the best, Sean.

Promotions not often based on performance/numbers

Pros

Great people and good product. I enjoyed much of my time at Xactly and the connections I have made here. We had good opportunities for training in a number of different areas as well. I feel like I learned a good deal about business to add to my previous job experience while I was at Xactly but its clear that promotions are based on cherry picking personalities that upper management thinks will work when others who have proven themselves but are not selected by management to move up are rarely given a shot.

Cons

From my experience, many different types of personalities work in sales (especially in this day and age when the stereotypical salesman/woman is no more effective) and cherry picking personalities over performance just doesn't seem like the right model. While I have seen some people who have been offered promotions become highly successful, many others have sold essentially nothing. I have also seen many talented, high performers in all levels of the company treated unfairly based on various things (not clicking with managers etc).

Pros

Lavish parties and club trips Decent product Name recognition Competitive compensation If you are family or friends with the executives, you are untouchable and can get away with literally anything. You can even make club if you miss by a lot. Friends and family first.

Cons

Even before the acquisition, the mood in the sales team is at an all time low. People are fleeing by droves from the poor management. Quotas are unrealistic and they even lowered it because so few hit their number. Low double digits. Sales leadership is grossly inexperienced and recent changes are leaving people scratching their heads. No accountability from sales management. Missing quarter after quarter is never the fault of the managers or executives. "She just didn't get it" is the standard response. But you hired all of us and it's your job to make us successful! I'm Sad to see a company with such high potential hamstrung by one bad executive hire to another. As long as you look the part, spout the coolaid and can speak in public you are looked upon as a god even if you add no value whatsoever to your team besides approving discounts. I have not talked to one rep who speaks highly of them. The nepotism and favoritism is out of control and worst of any company I've seen. Ask any rep and they will know exactly what you are referring to. When you are hired your success is pre determined based on your relationships with management. Tons of hypocrisy and backstabbing There's definately trouble ahead
