Pros

- Never worked with so many genuine, kind people in my career - CEO is calm, cool, and collected - Compensation is very competitive - Culture is amazing, micro management is frowned upon - Product is very strong

Cons

- Typical growing pains. The organization is growing like crazy and with that will come some growing pains, as they try to mature people process and technology.

Pros

The compensation is great, the people are friendly, the culture is the most transparent and intentional I've ever been a part of

Cons

We're growing really quickly. Sometimes how to do things can be unclear or become outdated quickly.

Pros

Great culture, flexible time off, people are all friendly and management is transparent

Cons

Would've rated 5 stars a year ago but things have changed quite a bit - Some people in leadership positions are grossly incompetent - Lots of teams are grossly understaffed (engineering, legal etc.) - More and more new hires are leaving in < 1 year - Quality of new hires are trending downwards as they're desperately trying to hit recruitment target - The amount of stock options issued is laughable and no stock-based bonus - International expansion strategy and execution is highly questionable. They decided to set up a new office in Shanghai last year in order to expand into APAC, but obviously had not done any homework on the competitive and regulatory landscape there. Feel really bad for folks in Asia because from what I heard the past few months had been very chaotic with the office almost shut down at one point and operating under tons of restrictions most of the time that made day-to-day work extremely difficult and unpleasant. The burden was then transferred to the team in the US that caused capacity issues among a lot of teams. Unclear how we can win in that market.

YipitData Response

At YipitData, it is our goal for everyone, as much as possible, to have a good experience here and, for you, we are clearly falling very short of that right now. We don’t disagree with the issues that you’re pointing out, though we would use different words to describe them. We are actively working on improving them along with other issues you didn’t point out. When a company is growing as fast as ours, there will always be issues and we need to have a process for addressing them. During our company-wide meeting (the week we received this review), we addressed each of the points made and the work we’re doing to tackle them. However, we need to continue to do more to address them and learn to proactively prevent similar problems in the future. We need reviews like this and candid feedback from our employees to know what we need to improve and how to do it, so we appreciate you raising these issues. Our biggest concern is that you may have already expressed these frustrations internally and felt they weren’t being heard. Our leadership team and People Ops team will work closely together to make sure that people both feel comfortable sharing this type of feedback internally and that it's being quickly addressed. We rely on this feedback to really understand the root cause of challenges so that our solutions will work. We will work very hard to make sure that we get you back to the 5-star experience you felt you had a year ago. Thank you for your feedback and your patience. Vin Co/Founder and CEO of YipitData
