Pros

They paid well. Full time work with opportunity for overtime if that is what you're into.

Cons

We were hired under the guise that the position is Temp-to-hire and nearly everyone is retained. The Income Maintenance contract is ending, there will be no retention. We spent 2.5 weeks in training and then they put us on the floor for calls. The training time was a waste, none of it had been practical to the call situations so nearly my entire group of training staff has no idea what we were doing and we were miserable. They say they don't expect you to be good at it from the start but that is a lie, after 2 days we were expected to be meeting the quotas and passing the call screening tests. We were being complained at by the supervisors from the moment we set foot on the floor.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, management is understanding of family needs and emergencies. I enjoyed the actual work, helping get child support to families who needed it and gained a great deal of experience in legal document preparation.

Cons

Low pay and since the company is a contracted agency they do not have the ability to reward and give raises like other companies may be able to. I was there for more than four years and received less than $1.00 in total raises from year to year, ending at $11.00 per hour. Additionally there are VERY HIGH workloads and lots of pressure from management to meet numbers that are un-obtainable.

Pros

There are no nights, weekends or overtime. All State holidays are off.

Cons

Management is non-progressive with no diversity in management. CEO down to management are very disconnected with the reality of the collection process and the constant abuse employees endure. Pay rate is sub-par for what you are required to do and endure. Very little encouragement, recognition and motivation. Annual review raises are not even 3% for most people in the office. Inconsistent with office rules and regulations depending on ethnicity of the employee. Body shaming by management, archaic micro managing working conditions, favoritism and nepotism are very common. High turnover because of the pay and little to no movement opportunities within the company.
