Pros

Two kinds of soda, bottled water, and coffee are free in the kitchen. Employees learn to handle stress and ultimately prioritize their lives.

Cons

In my time working at similar firms that produce similar products on a similar scale, I have never encountered a more inefficient, irksome, and irrational development process. Project management seems to be driven by a Ouija Board and the individual managers' mood rather than a planned deliverable schedule. Manager's will tell you that the environment is dynamic because ZT responses to customer needs; this is a lie, the environment is not dynamic, it is chaotic, and it is because they are incompetent. I very rarely knew at any point in the past year what my projects would be for the following day. Final thoughts: the pay is terrible, HR is simultaneously sycophantic to managers and cruel to employees (I note this b/c they miss filed my bonus and unnecessarily increased my tax burden), and working here is a nightmare.

Pros

Neat tech that you work with

Cons

The lies and broken promises: - During the hiring process, the recruiter will promise you many things that never come true. The most egregious lie you will be told is that after 6 months of being on a contract, you will be upgraded to a full time ZT Systems employee. This is flat out false and the real timeframe for being upgraded is usually about or over a year at the company. They will exploit your contract and indefinitely extend it, only to throw you away for a false reason when they see you're not giving in to their attempts to make you quit. Low pay and strict policies, and hostility, and leadership that doesn't lead: - You will get paid way below the average of other similar positions, but at least you'll have a fun, supportive, and stress-free environment to make up for it, right? Wrong. Every department and shift looks down on the other, creating hostility and a lack of teamwork. Leadership fails to give support to their employees and their only purpose is to be the mouthpiece of upper management's complaints and policies. Already strict policies continue to get stricter every month or two, and the company never gives anything back as compensation for what they've taken away.

Pros

As a company, ZT competes directly against the Hyperscaling Server and Storage solutions, so they go directly against EMC (Dell), HP, and Lenovo. The difference is the level of customization for the customer base to provide more a solution that will help the customer's demand vs trying to force a generic form-factor into an environment which can lead to either overkill due to sales folks who oversold a solution, or a customer who tried to save money and underscaled what they would need. The people at ZT are all eager to grow the company and has tremendous passion.

Cons

Because the company is growing so quickly, they are forced to mature in every department overnight, thus the tremendous opportunities to improve the company. Some may see this as a scary challenge but if you have good experience and insight into how an organization should look, this is definitely a great company for you.
