Pros

Wonderful benefits...that cannot be disputed. Gym reimbursement, incredible health/dental/vision coverage, generous PTO that is available for use immediately, really great coworkers, casual dress code.

Cons

LOTS of passive-aggressive behavior. I cannot speak for other departments, but mine most certainly strayed from the core values (especially Turn on the Lights and Act With Integrity). Sick time cannot be used without 48 hours notice, which defeat s the purpose of having it (you cannot plan when you get sick). Hardly any room for growth unless you want to work on commission in the sales department, which definitely isn't for everyone.

Hi, I'm glad to hear you think ZG benefits are great. I agree with you on that front. I respectfully disagree that there is no room for growth, as we've had more than 50 Client Engagement Specialists get promotions or other roles with Zillow Group in the last year. In addition, more than half of our leads in Denver were promoted from within. As for the use of sick time, Zillow Group offers a very competitive and generous benefits package which includes paid time off and sick time. This allows employees to take planned and unplanned time out of the office. We do ask that employees give advanced noticed for any planned time off. Relative your comments about straying from our core values, I see our leaders work hard to live those values everyday, and challenge each other when they feel those values are in danger. If you have experience that doesn't match with this, I'd very much like to hear your specific feedback. Please reach out to me directly at jrg@zillowgroup.com so I can follow up. -JR Gast, VP Client Experience.

Pros

Z Seattle office is such a fun place to work . Everyone has amazing character, positive personalities and really just want to help. The inside sales org offers opportunity to make a lot of money . The executives are people you are proud of and they inspire you to work harder. And the benefits, so many amazing benefits.

Cons

Zillow has been working hard to be more diverse and it is apparent in most of the department's, except for inside sales. It is still very much a boys club. Even though half of the sales staff are women, almost all the managers are men. All of the General Managers are also men. Being a women means you have to work twice as hard to get half the recognition. I have been at Zillow 2 years and I have not seen a single women promoted . The "boys" also treat the environment with a very "frat like" attitude. You must have very thick skin to survive the environment.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you think Zillow Group is a fun place to work. Here at Zillow Group we value gender parity and are always working hard to improve equality in the workplace. Our sales organization has women in both manager and senior leadership roles across all offices. In addition, our leadership and sales roles are open for all to apply and interview. To further instill a culture of transparency, we've recently looked into our gender pay gap and found that female employees make $1.01 for every dollar earned by male counterparts. We are also supporting our diversity & inclusion initiative by rolling out training around leadership development and unconscious bias. I value your feedback and my door is always open to discuss this further. Chris Lowe Senior Director - Premier Agent Sales, Seattle

Pros

Good benefits, free snacks and drinks, amazing people.

Cons

This job was the worst job I have ever had! Management is a joke. They tell you that they promote within but then they hired team leads externally, passing up great internal candidates. They do not care about you as a person but rather the amount of calls you make. Also if you try and do the right thing by putting in your 2 weeks, they let you go right then and make up fake emails saying you said it was your last day. They give severance to people they fire but not when you give your two weeks and HR's explanation was that it was up to them.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m sorry you felt your experience was poor. Our Denver office, as are many Zillow Group locations, is consistently recognized as a great place to work, and I strongly believe our management team is demonstrably strong in both performance and people management. We’re also very proud that 70% of our team leads were promoted from within. Regarding our process for resignations, severance is dependent on when and how the employee gives notice. In terms of the most serious charge of fabricating documentation, we work hard to live our company's core values every day, including one of my favorites, Act With Integrity. I spoke to our senior leadership and human resources, and reviewed documented conversations from resignations and performance improvement plans from this year. I found no discrepancies and firmly believe the process is working cleanly and as intended. However, if you have information to the contrary, I definitely want to hear those details.
