Pros

accesso is a great place to work with a bright future. Its applications are the state of the industry and constantly receiving high praise from industry critics. It's hard to win the Queen's Award for innovation without having your stuff together. Great culture. Trendy working environment complete with an on-site cafe. Awesome management team.

Cons

Ops work-life balance one can expect at accesso all but rules out time with family. Great PTO but no way to actually take advantage of it without getting far behind. Tough, often unrealistic deadlines.

Pros

The company is making money for now. It's a decent place for tech people with entry-level experience. The pay is decent and borderline competitive. The healthcare is good.

Cons

Decisions on the technology side are made by people who have no idea what they are doing. All the technology managers are still at their first tech job and have no real industry experience. Most developers with any sort of talent leave within a year. Experienced developers would regularly hit brick walls with management on using newer technologies and eventually leave. System architecture decisions only came from the executive level, so my job mainly consisted of babysitting a system designed 10 years ago. Right before I left I was told that one of the execs didn't understand why one of the IT guys didn't fix printers or windows desktops so they were getting rid of my position and making me a generalized IT guy. I jumped ship less than a week later. This is a perfect example of their complete technological incompetence from a managerial perspective.

Thank you for your review! Over the last year, we have restructured our teams, including at the executive level, to not only better support our clients and employees, but also our various technical platforms. We have invested in new tools and resources that have started to streamline and improve both our business processes as well as our technical roadmaps. Additionally, our systems are under continual development and we are significantly rewriting parts of it to enhance it with these new technologies. Luckily for us, attrition has been minimal which has helped with knowledge retention (and allows for upward mobility within our teams) as we continue to build more robust platforms across our various product lines.

Pros

Perks during busy season on Fridays, nice kitchen with drinks and snacks provided. Some Directors/Managers do more for their teams than others as far as lunches and after hours get-togethers. Good as first job to get experience if you are single.

Cons

Have same procedures they had when they were a small company with fewer clients and those procedures no longer work. Micro-managing from leadership team does not allow employees to do their jobs. No personal life. Expected to work 50+ hours in the office and then work at home nights and weekends. Expect employees to carry cell phones and be available 24/7 to assist with problems even if not on call. Every other week load mornings at 6:00AM and rarely leave before 5:00.
