Pros

This is a valuable place to get guest service experience. While you are physically working AT Six Flags you are not working FOR Six Flags, which means better hours, very flexible scheduling, and a lot of camaraderie among the staff. Like many jobs, the quality of the job is very dependent on the supervisors and managers, most of which are excellent. The leadership team does their best to switch us around so it doesn't get boring, and give us enough room and enough guidance to do our jobs properly. All in all, a good place to work.

Cons

This is not a stepping stone to a career. You do get experience but there is nowhere to move up. Because you are working at a theme park, you will see thousands and thousands of guests every day, which means if 5% of those people are downright inhumanly awful, you will deal with a lot of them. This creates a kind of trauma-bonding among colleagues and after two seasons I have a very thick skin (which is really weird because I'm a very sensitive person). Unique to working for Accesso (flash pass), you have the unique job description of stopping people so that flash pass guests can go first. This gets very awkward. However, most people understand and you do get used to it.

Long hours, no family time

Pros

New technology, sometimes it can be fun if you get time, but unlikely.

Cons

Crazy hours, accesso only wants employees who put them first and family last. Very short deadlines and impossible timelines. No proper design mythologies or patterns. Expect to come in at 6 am, leave at 8 pm with little salary.

Among the many changes that have taken place at accesso the last few years, the establishment of our core company hours has probably been the most beneficial in allowing our team members the flexibility they need to better balance their work lives with their personal lives. As our company continues to expand so do the needs of our clients, however with best practices in place our teams are able to fulfill tasks in an expeditious manner. We remain fluid as an organization and are constantly reviewing how we can continue to recognize and reward our hard working team members, so thank you for your input!
