Thank you for sharing your experience and for calling out the strength of the teams in the field and our SC organization! The people doing the work day in and day out are a huge part of what has always made commercetools special, and we appreciate you recognizing that. We also hear your perspective on how the company has evolved and how leadership decisions have landed, particularly from a customer-facing role. As the business and the market have changed, so has our leadership team. Today, that group includes operators with deep experience across enterprise commerce, SaaS, and global go-to-market organizations, alongside our founder and technical leadership. That said, perception matters, and we know we need to continue doing a better job connecting strategy with the realities teams experience on the ground. Change can be especially visible and difficult during periods of transition, and we understand that the environment today may not feel like the one you originally joined. While that won’t be the right fit for everyone, the intent behind these shifts has been to build a company that can compete and grow for the long term in a very different commerce landscape than the one that existed a few years ago. We appreciate you taking the time to share your candid feedback and wish you the best in what’s next!

We know that leadership transitions, especially during periods of rapid growth can impact team dynamics and culture. Since our significant expansion in 2022, we’ve focused on increasing transparent and building more meaningful connections across the company. That includes clearer communication around company health metrics including what they mean, how they impact our strategy, and how departmental decisions contribute to our overall performance. We’ve also expanded our internal communication channels from regular Ask Me Anythings sessions to both departmental and companywide newsletters. We’ve launched new employee resource groups, development programs, and training designed to support our people and their growth. And product-wise, we’ve delivered innovations that have helped us secure a spot as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce for five years in row. We are sorry to hear that your experience didn’t reflect the transparency and culture we’re continuing to build as we mature as a business.
