Pros

Most positions are remote. There are some good people here that are very smart.

Cons

If I could give a company 0 stars I would. This is the probably the most unprofessional company I've ever seen. Actually, this isn't a company, it's a frat masquerading as a company as who you drink with determines how you're treated - if you're not "friends" with the right people you have no potential for even work stability and completely inept people are promoted into management and stay there when they fail their teams and the company time and again. They have 90% turnover in the PMO - it's easy to see why, they claim unlimited PTO but penalize PMs who try to take off, they don't take time to properly train or onboard anyone and then throw them under the bus if a client complains. Mention anything about your workload being too much (like you're having trouble handling 8+ projects) and you're swiftly shown the door. Multiple PMs have been fired or fled in under a year with the company, often times just weeks after completing onboarding. Business development flat out lies to clients about what we can offer and sells things that don't exist and then it's left to the services team to try to deliver on a badly worded SOW. Management knowingly sets up people to fail (not training them, giving them impossible to deliver SOWs) then blames them when the client isn't 100% happy. Even outside the PMO, turnover is terrible - every week suddenly someone is gone because they had enough and quit or they got fired for whatever bs reason.

Pros

Good compensation and benefits package.

Cons

eCS lures prospective hires with attractive benefits and promises of being committed to employee success. However, management was unable to outline specific performance expectations and a major gap exists between performance milestones and attainable goals.  Heavy emphasis is placed on billable hours and utilization for ICs, who are expected to be fully utilized within weeks of being hired.  Inconsistent and unclear direction is given to new hires about timecard completion - especially during mentorship periods when Principle ICs and “Junior” ICs share workloads.  The time recording process is overly complicated and timecards are scrutinized by corporate leadership, (down to 15min increments). Department leadership is comprised of highly intelligent individuals, with an obvious lack of experience leading and developing employees.  Department culture was often hostile, as manager has mercurial temperament. Repeatedly apologized for snapping, giving contradictory or incorrect direction, had frequent confrontational outbursts during meetings, unable to comprehend questions from subordinates related to job function (“I’m not understanding your question” or “help me better understand how that will help you in your job”), and was unnecessarily hypercritical of specification and logic writing style. Several members of the IC department freely communicate with one another, and have shared identical experiences.  Concerns were escalated to department VP on multiple occasions and were ignored. I, personally, was once told to “put on your big girl panties” during a meeting.  It was offensive and demoralizing. Also, be aware of an increased use of globally dispersed technical teams who are inexperienced in life sciences industry. End result(s): Lots of re-work and training on the fly for ICs & PMs.
