Children's Nebraska recently welcomed more than 160 new team members dedicated to our Behavioral Health & Wellness Center for orientation at our main hospital campus. This incredible team will power our world-class facility opening in January 2026 to offer comprehensive pediatric behavioral health services, expand access to care and serve the needs of youth and families across the region. A warm welcome to our new colleagues, who will transform pediatric mental healthcare and improve the lives of countless children and families for years to come!
Inside and outside the walls of our campus and clinics, our team members are passionate about improving the lives of children. Recently, our Gastroenterology team raised $2,771 to support the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, increasing our collective impact on ground-breaking research and better treatments for those impacted. This year’s #TakeStepsWalk was the perfect opportunity for team members to come together, raise awareness and make a difference.
Children’s Nebraska has been awarded Mental Health America’s 2024 Bell Seal platinum certification for Workplace Mental Health. This elite workplace mental health certification recognizes employers striving to create mentally healthy workplaces for their team members. The Bell Seal platinum certification is the highest level attainable. Children’s received an overall score of 97%, receiving high marks for culture, benefits, compliance and wellness, following a rigorous evaluation of our policies and practices. Only one in four employers meet the standards for Bell Seal certification. The Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health recognizes companies and organizations like Children’s Nebraska that understand the value of addressing mental health at work and implement policies and practices to support wellbeing.

Guadalupe Martinez, pathology technician at Children's Nebraska and a first generation student who graduated from UNMC studying medical laboratory science, was recently featured on KMTV. Guadalupe is one of 98 students in Omaha who is in the Partnership for Kids program that helps college and high school students pay for school and build resumes.

Children's Nebraska has been accredited as a level 4 pediatric epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC), recognized as the highest level of accreditation for epilepsy care. The designation is the latest achievement for Children’s expert Pediatric Neurosciences team, which offers the region’s most comprehensive pediatric epilepsy program and is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families experiencing epilepsy and seizures.
