We are excited to announce that the Epstein-designed, engineered and constructed Prestage Foods of Iowa is the cover story for this month’s MEAT+POULTRY magazine. The pork processing plant, located in Eagle Grove, Iowa, is one of the most advanced food processing facilities in the world, designed to process roughly 600 million pounds of pork annually. When providing DesignBuild services for this plant, Epstein planned for the efficient flow of operations, while simultaneously integrating high standards of food safety and sustainable design elements. “We felt like they were the most experienced at building the modern new design, which is a very clean, straightforward flow of product, all one-story plant,” says Jere Null, CEO, Prestage Foods of Iowa. “We felt like Epstein would be astute to that. They have expertise in food engineering and building food plants, so we selected them as our general [contractor].” Check out the feature below!
The Epstein Community Foundation (ECF) teamed up with Ronald McDonald House Charities to participate in their Meals from the Heart program. We enjoyed coming together to prepare warm meals for families who have children at Lurie Children’s Hospital. Thank you to all of our volunteers!

Epstein is pleased to be providing Architect and Engineer of Record services for the 80,000 sq. ft. interior fit-out of KidZania at Oak Brook Center. The team is providing detailed drawings for the facility, including the streetscape, building facades, airport lobby, activities and staff areas. Epstein has worked closely with KidZania, our specialty consultants and theming contractors to coordinate 55 highly detailed facades and themed establishments. KidZania provides children with a safe, unique and realistic educational environment; we’re delighted to be a part of this project and excited to see it come to fruition, which will allow kids to do what comes natural to them.
At 26 stories, the world’s largest modular hotel is coming to New York City’s NoMad neighborhood. The AC NoMad by Marriott demonstrates how modular construction has evolved, marked by a desire to bring the advantages of modern industrialized manufacturing to the construction sector. As the Associate Architect for the project, Epstein is excited to share this video, which shows how entire rooms are being built in a factory, then transported to the site and assembled in place, as well as an insight into the technical expertise Epstein provided for this highly complicated urban development. Epstein was pleased to participate in the Chase Corporate Challenge again this year! Team Epstein, comprised of members from each of our individual design, engineering and construction disciplines, joined the more than 28,000 participants to race through Chicago's Grant Park. Congratulations to all of the runners!
Epstein's interior architects and engineers have been selected by the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) to design a complete interior renovation of the Pedestrian Tunnels at O'Hare Airport. Furthermore, our proposed design improvements are in conjunction with the Water Infiltration Remediation project that was already in progress by Epstein’s civil engineers. We have enjoyed re-imagining these tunnels, and are looking forward to reworking them into new and vibrant public access spaces.
