Please help us celebrate a remarkable group of interns who have made a big impact across the Edward Rose & Sons Indianapolis portfolio this summer! From their first day with us, our 2025 interns hit the ground running—supporting site operations including leasing efforts at properties throughout multiple regions while bringing energy, curiosity, and fresh ideas to the table. Their internship also included a hard hat tour with the development and architectural team, a formal leasing class, and Marketing Week; providing problem-solving solutions for active challenges. Each intern brought a unique perspective and tackled these challenges with professionalism, creativity, and collaboration. As they wrap up their internship, we couldn’t be prouder of their contributions and growth.

Towards the end of 2024, we launched an initiative to ensure that all our Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Supervisors achieve the EPA Section 608 certification. At Edward Rose & Sons, we’re proud to provide this essential training to ensure our Service team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills to safely handle refrigerants — critical for both safety and environmental protection. We’re excited to share that our Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Supervisors stepped up to the challenge and did an outstanding job. Through completing their learning plans, preparing for the exam, and successfully passing; they made this initiative a true success. Kudos to all of our team members who earned their certification—congratulations on this important achievement!

Breaking Ground on a Bright Future in Romeoville! This week, we celebrated the official groundbreaking of Monarch Grove Apartments. Our newest residential community in the Village of Romeoville, IL. We were honored to be joined by our CEO, Warren Rose, and Mayor John D. Noak, along with many valued partners who helped bring this vision to life. Monarch Grove will offer a mix of modern one, two, and three-bedroom apartment homes thoughtfully designed across 69 acres. From luxury finishes and smart home technology to native landscaping and vibrant outdoor spaces including butterfly gardens and EV charging stations. This community reflects our commitment to quality, innovation, and environmental stewardship. Phase one will include a stunning 7,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, outdoor pool, senior living residences, and the first wave of apartment homes. Walking trails and connectivity to the broader Romeoville trail system will ensure residents feel at home both within and beyond the community. This year’s event was especially meaningful as we celebrated the retirement of our Regional Facilities Manager, James Asel, as he rounds his final lap after 37+ years with Edward Rose & Sons. From high-speed action to connecting with friends and colleagues, this outing was the perfect way to kick off Memorial Day weekend! Thank you, James, for your years of dedication—and thank you to the Indianapolis community for another unforgettable Carb Day!

In April 2025, we presented one of our Maintenance Technicians with the Above & Beyond Award. What started as a typical evening turned into a heroic act of courage when Cody, a maintenance team member, risked his own safety to save a child from icy waters. Two young children had been playing on the frozen pond at the property when the ice gave way beneath one of them. As her sister made it safely off the ice, the other remained trapped in the frigid water. A nearby resident heard the screams and alerted others. Cody, who was in his apartment at the time, heard the commotion and sprang into action. Without hesitation, he ran to the scene, stepped out onto the ice, and eventually broke through himself. Using his arms and body, he pushed through the freezing water to reach the child and clear a path back to safety. Thanks to Cody’s quick thinking and bravery, he was able to get the child out of the water before emergency services arrived. Cody’s courageous actions embody the very best of Edward Rose & Sons—demonstrating compassion for others.
