There was a fantastic turnout from the Sonepar USA family at the 2018 NAED Women in Industry Forum in San Diego! This group had the opportunity to meet and network with incredible and inspirational women from our industry, as well as some amazing guest speakers. Tammy Livers (VP Business Development), herself a former recipient of this award, presented the 2018 NAED Women in Industry Trailblazer Award to Kathy Jo Van; and Charmienne Ganao (VP Treasury) presented the Sonepar-sponsored closing keynote speaker, Chelsea Roff. Last week, Maitland Shared Services associates donated their time to make lunch for the families residing at a local Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a home away from home for families with children receiving treatment at hospitals or medical facilities. It was a great way to give back to the Central Florida Community. A very special thank you to those Maitland associates who helped with the shopping, food prep, cooking, set up and clean up. The Philadelphia office recently participated in the Healthy Heart 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair – benefiting the pharmacy students at Thomas Jefferson University. Despite being a Saturday in the summer, we were still able to pull off a decent turn-out. Great times and great weather! The Healthy Heart 5K and Health Fair supports the initiatives of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists chapters at Thomas Jefferson University. These organizations, run by dedicated student pharmacists, provide health screenings and education to community members on topics including heart health, diabetes, smoking cessation, nutrition and exercise, immunizations, and safe use of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Free health screenings and education were provided at the finish line! #soneparusacares

Meet our 2018 Sales & Operations Development Program class!! We had a successful orientation week in our Charleston, SC office last week to kick off the program. The group had the opportunity to hear from various leaders within the Sonepar USA organization, as well as spend time with the 2017 Alumni trainees to learn about their experiences in the program last year. This is a landmark year for our organization, as we have 24 trainees across 8 operating companies and within Sonepar Management Group participating in the program - which is our largest class yet! The 2018 Trainees will begin their Warehouse Module at their respective operating companies next week.

The Sonepar USA Charleston Office held the first official ping pong tournament to raise money for our Parkinson's Moving Day fundraiser. Between the competitive spirit, grand entrances and costumes, both the participants and audience had an exciting day for a great cause. Congrats to our champion, Grant Tucker, and runner-up Michael O’Loughlin! Moving Day is your chance to speak up about Parkinson’s disease and move others to take action. It is a movement for change - towards more awareness, more funding, and more understanding of a disease that affects so many of our family and friends. The 2017 Sales & Operations Trainees spent last week at our operating company NorthEast Electrical Distributors in Brockton, MA. The trainees were able to learn a lot, especially about what makes NorthEast unique within the Sonepar family. The trainees have now officially completed the last module of the program, Inside/Outside Sales. In the coming weeks they will begin transitioning into their final roles within their operating companies. Thank you to all the associates at NorthEast who interacted with our group, and a huge thank you NorthEast for hosting!
