Each month, the Sonepar Charleston office brings associates together to celebrate work anniversaries and birthdays, as well as to formally introduce new associates to the group. Today we had a Cinco De Mayo themed celebration for the month of May! We played some "get to know you" games with balloons, music, and even some Chick Fil A to celebrate! Luis Velez, Director of Corporate Safety & Learning and Development at Sonepar's operating company Independent Electric Supply, Inc. in San Leandro,CA, is featured in this month's edition of The Electrical Distributor [tED] Magazine. In 2017, Luis launched a "Learn2Earn" contest in order to incentivize and gamify learning and development for associates. The contest focused on completing NAED EPEC Bronze and CEP Sales training courses. Last week, the Sales & Operations Emerging Leaders spent the week in Nashville, TN at our operating company, Irby. They have officially completed their Project Management and Quotations Module, and have moved into their final module of the program - Inside/Outside Sales. They learned about all different aspects of sales in order to prepare for their next aspect of the program, and were even able to get some team building in at a Nashville Predators hockey game. Thank you to Irby for hosting!
