Trupanion has appointed Fawwad Qureshi as its new chief financial officer. Qureshi has over 20 years of financial experience, coming most recently from Expedia Group, where he had full P&L and commercial responsibility for Expedia’s portfolio of consumer brands including Vrbo and Hotels.com. Prior to Expedia, Qureshi acted as CFO for Nike Global Technology. “We are thrilled to welcome Fawwad to Trupanion. He joins Trupanion with a pedigree of senior financial leadership in rapidly growing, consumer businesses. His well-established track record of managing multiple P&Ls for global growth companies will benefit us greatly as we work to achieve both our near and long-term goals,” said Margi Tooth, President of Trupanion. “At a time where we are helping more pets than ever, across multiple products, channels and geographies, I’m excited to have him aboard and leading this critical and growing function.”

With so many pets, we rely on a team of dog walkers to keep our office from (literally!) going to the dogs. For the second year in a row, Trupanion was named by dvm360 as the top pet insurance product in America, as recommended by veterinarians! Trupanion is the only provider that can pay veterinary invoices at the time of check-out, often in seconds, eliminating the cumbersome reimbursement model. Our members and the veterinarian community alike are beneficiaries of this model, which drives the pursuit of our mission to help loving, responsible pet owners budget and care for their pets. For this award, dvm360 identified top brands via survey input from over 800 veterinarians. This scale of survey is the most comprehensive research of its kind in the industry and underscores the trust our brand has gained with the veterinary community.
Trupanion’s AI-based vet portal provides solutions to traditionally encumbering issues within the pet health care industry, according to the press release. By automating over 60% of the invoices submitted through its web-based portal, Trupanion is able to provide fast processing and accuracy. “Trupanion, through Vet Direct Pay, is the first and only pet insurer that can pay a bill directly to the veterinary hospital at time of checkout,” Trupanion Vice President of Claims Jacquie Mero said in the release. “As many pet parents can’t afford to pay the full cost of treatment out of pocket and wait for reimbursement, our ability to pay hospitals directly in real-time can often mean the difference between a pet receiving the treatment they need or leaving without care.”

We established June 18 as Veterinary Appreciation Day to celebrate the unsung heroes of the veterinary community. The heroes who regularly skip meals, work entire shifts without a single bathroom break, treat patients who bite back, ruin their backs lifting pets of all shapes and sizes, and stay late rather than go home to their own families. The veterinary community faces many emotional and physical challenges every day, and they deserve more than one day a year to be celebrated. That’s why we’re excited to officially debut truThankYou, our rallying cry for pet parents to empower, inspire, and uplift the veterinary community—not just on June 18, but all year long! Beginning today, Trupanion invites members to submit a formal truthankyou to their veterinary hero. With a heartfelt note, memorable pictures, or a video message, pet parents can express their appreciation for those in the veterinary community that have made a profound impact through their compassion, dedication, and selflessness. “The majority of our team members come from a veterinary ecosystem, so we are exceedingly aware of the long hours and hard work that veterinary professionals put in on a daily basis to care for the pets we all love,” said Margi Tooth, president of Trupanion. “It’s our goal to bring joy and inspiration to our veterinary heroes and to create a touching tribute to their unwavering commitment."
