Pros

Initially was a good place to work, with a more coach/support role as a FSM for Samsung. As is the case with so many companies, the hard truth comes out.

Cons

You are completely at the mercy of the client. They can wake up one day and cut your market through no fault of your own, just to save $$$. 2020 created an XPS (experiential specialist program) in March of this year, only to overhire, not have enough work for the people, and announce layoffs in July. This is a disgrace. Nobody in upper management has been held accountable for this debacle, even though the company likes to say how everyone is accountable. There is a lot of talk about career advancement and other opportunities, but management themselves have acknowledged that a lot of jobs never get posted on the web site. There are no pay raises; on the contrary, mileage reimbursement has just been decreased. So now many people are beating up their cars with no compensation. We are supposed to push so-called "Samsung Academy" - online courses of questionable value, often about outdated devices. Reps in stores do not want to take them, and we have nothing to give them that they want...they do NOT want book bags, pens, or hats. They want money or gift cards, and that is exactly what Samsung is not providing. Samsung has had 7 consecutive quarters of declining profits. This is not going to end well. I am afraid sooner rather than later this program will be cut, and hundreds of people will be out of a job - except for upper management, of course.

Pros

No pros at all with this company. Being on unemployment would be better

Cons

First company I've ever worked for where I was asked on multiple occasions via various levels of management..in person, via email, via conference calls....TO LEAVE A POSITIVE REVIEW ON GLASSDOOR. This may hint to some issues. Recruiter is a different company, was given a different salary than what was offered by recruiter. Hours expected to work increased, but no increase in pay. Territory I was told I would cover, was not so. I was expected to travel 2-3 hours away from my home, for 1 store...to then travel to other locations with few stores as well. The job ad stated I would have stores close to home. Meanwhile..stores closer to my home, literally 5-20 minutes away, are covered by other reps who did not live in the area. You're supposed to be out there promoting the newest and best that Samsung has to offer, but when first put into the field, you don't have a Samsung phone. When I finally got a phone, it wasn't what "we" just launched. Makes sense right? District, Regional & National Manager would have a conference call (they love these unproductive wastes of time) and literally contradict themselves several times during these calls when stating protocol, best practices, guidelines..whatever. Things like...I don't expect you to work holiday's and not get paid for it...or I don't expect you to work 6 days a week...Yes..they do. When I left, they changed a 5 day work week to a 6 or 7 day work week. No explanation of why and of course, no compensation for it..or Holiday pay. And they love to tell you that expect you to work on a day that was in your rotation to be off. It took them several months after hire to divulge what our KPI's would be, that had to be met for us to receive pay. Expect you to work 60 hours a week, for a pittance, although I applied for a 40hr/week job. "Conference" calls every single morning...the most non-productive time wasting experience, having emails and sales reports that were sent to you that morning, or night before..narrated. If you can't trust or empower the staff you hired as Managers to process and understand standard english and basic math....that's something you may want to look into. And don't get me started with the "Daily Quotes" Seriously. Is this a job or a cult. Then,...when there is valuable information to be shared such as promotions, launches, product specs..it takes forever to get that info. All that combined with a District Manager who will tell your business to your co-workers (including who is about to be fired), and a Regional Manager who a 5th grader could beat in a spelling bee, District Managers who "sleep" their way to the top and have no sales experience, but yet are fit to lead a group of Field Sales Managers.

Pros

Sometimes I actually get paid, and sometimes I actually get reimbursed when I submit my expense reports and sometimes the reimbursement checks are correct, at least from what I hear, none of mine have ever been correct. But it's okay because the administrators located in Texas are southerners and very friendly about giving you the run around and taking so long to respond that it is obvious they hope you just give up and forget about it. The only type of anonymity I have used is not giving my name. I guarantee if upper level management read this they would know who wrote it, actually scratch that they probably wouldn't because this happens to so many managers and even reps. Seriously...

Cons

Well I can only think of a few cons. Fronting hundreds of dollars out of my own pocket and then waiting months to be reimbursed only for them to find reasons not to reimburse the correct amount although everything was submitted properly. Upper level management telling you different versions and giving different answers to the same question. Management sucks as much out of you as they can and this is coming from a Manager, however I do have morals and ethics so I guess I'm just not cut out to be a manager for this company. You may wonder why I still work here. Because I still have for some reason some sort of faith they will actually pay me what they say they're going to because if I quit I will never see any of the money that I fronted at least while I am still here there is a slight chance I will get my money back. Even management tells you to lie to the administrators just so that they can cover their own behinds when they do not feel like doing things the proper way and according to company procedures and policies.
