Pros

Pay & Benefits are competitive. Annual Bonus, Healthy amount of PTO and holidays. Health Insurance is probably probably equivalent to the average cost and coverage of all employers.

Cons

Company is buying up other companies and trying to align efficiently. In doing so, there is constant churn in leadership and the company’s only consistent management philosophy is growth. Work life balance is not a thing if you work for one of the non-AAA/ACG branded company’s owned by ACG. Culture at the child company I work for was great when I started with the company, but the more ACG has started to take over “leadership”, the worse the culture has gotten. Largely due ACG leadership squeezing out human capital and making it so difficult for front line management to hold people accountable.

Not always doing what's right

Pros

Benefits and pay potential are higher than an agency producer

Cons

Good insurance agents will be thrown under the bus by territory leaders managers and trainers looking to make name for themselves. Don't think you're an exception to the rule. Major micromanagement by people red knuckling their desks watching your quote and sales reports. It will inhibit your sales. The managers do not trust agents like they should. Culture of fear driven down by the very top. Lots of condescension. No really good business people to mentor under. Not a lot of room for advancememt unless you're willing to brow beat people and break the rules to "win". No real team atmospheres in branches. Some branches are run by the agents. Underwriters are nice but will reject some business that qualifies. Very uninspired and butt kissy midwest region. Needs more worker bees and role models. Too much underlying racism in member facing chairs. The products are for everyone and some people should be reminded. Many days I ask myself if the awesome products are worth bringing consumers into this particular lions den. I worry about how they'll be treated when I leave.

Pros

Benefits are decent. Can't be fired no matter how horrible of a person you are as long as your revenue & credit card production is good.

Cons

*Pay: They boast about the commission amounts you'll received w/in 90 days of starting when in reality the commission structure is created so you never received more than pennies on the dollar and after an insane amount of work is put in on your part, and you'll maybe see 1/100th of that in addition to the hourly. *Pay: No they do not give you a raise after your first year. The starting pay is below poverty level for the city of Nashville. *Pay: The pay checks don't make sense and nobody understands them. If you ask your manager, they'll tell you to call accounting. If you call accounting, who never does their job anyway, they'll tell you to talk to your line manager for the specifics. *Lack of Integrity: This company does give a crap if you die or if you're struggling, or if something happens that wasn't your fault. If you made their life difficult, they'll be sure to make yours even worse. Or just ignore you. *HR Department: Somebody could verbally abuse you in front of 5 or 6 other coworkers who include their statements and NOTHING will come of it. *Not enough money to invest in an updated building, software, or employee pay but a hell of a lot of money to buy up other AAA clubs and ruin their lives as well. *Advancement: None. There is no moving up in this company. The people who are in charge have been in charge for decades. There is no room for new people. *Training: Nobody who trains has ever been a field agent. Nor is there a consensus on updated policies. *DISCRIMINATION: The north and south territories are paid and treated very differently. Travel agents & MRs received considerably less revenue than insurance agents. *Passion for Travel? Not ACG. No support for technical issues, mistakes, or even follow ups. Nobody in management actually understands the travel industry and they don't care to learn how. *No integrity. Nobody follows up on what they promise you and they don't support you if you've discovered a discrepancy on literally anything. Honestly the worst part is that nobody cares. Nobody cared how hard you were trying nor did they care if you didn't do anything at all. As long as you churned credit card submittals, and that had a good turnover - you could get away with murder.
