Pros

Big company with plenty of opportunity to move up in the company

Cons

Very low work-life balance. They expect 120 billable hours a month and that doesn't include all of the time spent answering emails and any other program development time outside of contracted time allotment. There are emails that get sent out after 7pm that require immediate responses and you are often required to work on Sundays. They care very little for clinically sound interventions and focus more on filling contracts, filling out paper work, and other administrative tasks. A lot of the job requirements take you away from focusing on the client's progress.

Pros

The best part of this job is working with the kids and building relationships with them as well as their families. This is the only real reason I have not been able to leave this company yet. I have also met some extremely awesome coworkers who sometimes are hard to gauge in regards to whether or not they love this job. I have met great people and the starting pay is better than minimum wage so that is always a plus as well.

Cons

There are no real benefits for part-time employees. Your spirits may rise when your hours move to full-time, but even then, your clients seem to cancel too frequently to really see a pay off. There should be a more strict cancellation policy on the clients' part because BIs are attempting to make a living off this job but are blindsided with little pay when parents cancel. Sometimes its hard to justify staying with the company when I hours get cut so often due to cancellations. There also seems to be little room for advancement or moving up and getting a promotion. Seems like a big game of favorites sometimes.

Pros

- The kiddos are amazing and you can learn a lot from them. - Some supervisors have a lot of experience in the field, they are caring, flexible, and creative. - The classroom like training is very thorough.

Cons

- Some parents are not interested in applying strategies for managing behaviors in their household which makes for slower progress with the kiddos. - Some supervisors BCBA's are are not as creative in helping you find strategies to manage behaviors in more aggressive kiddos. -Some supervisors BCBA's are less willing to collaborate with Behavior Interventionists and don't communicate the reasons for implementing a program or the long term strategies behind those goals. - Behavior Interventionists are given very little in the field training, and are not shown strategies for aggressive clients. - Some supervisors do not get materials to you in a timely manner. - From what I have seen with this company they don't move people up very often as they do not give out raises very frequently. I have been here a year and not received a review or a raise. If you push for it you will get goals that you will have to meet and get checked off by supervisors in order to be eligible for a raise. In all fairness I have not looked too much into getting a raise, but usually a company will give you a 6 month review and a yearly and i have not heard from management about either.
