Pros

uncapped comission, 401k match, remote option

Cons

mass layoff a week after I started, sink or swim philosophy, commission is unpredictable, loans are super high interest with fees that leave customers worse off, departments do not cooperate well, UI is hopelessly inaccurate and outdated, boring monotonous work, no clear written policy for many things, unnecessarily complicated loan processing procedures, weekends mandatory, a lot of overtime expected (6hrs week min), STRONG finance bro culture, manually doing tasks that can easily be automated, job and pay expectations were wildly misrepresented, diversity is severely lacking, list is endless

Pros

*Provides Sales Leads and that’s about it *casual attire and atmosphere *remote WFH *same same corp benefits, med/dental/401k etc

Cons

*MOST ARCHAIC LOS system I have used in 25 yrs. Excruciatingly painful interface, limitations ABOUND *Nearly non-existent communication including corporate emails, to employees, 85% of comms with the front end sales is via Teams meetings. *they do not allow you to email depts for “efficiency” reasons, as a result creates more than 24 hr backlogs to accomplish simple and timely daily loan officer tasks *if you generate less than min rolling 60 profit/revenues, they reduce (or not pay) your commissions earned by 50%-100%. Base salary of avg $36k/yr comes to about $700-$800 every to weeks after taxes, insurances+ are deducted. *CRIPPLING toxic workflow procedures from corporate trickle down to lowest levels in the worst ways (ie, disorganized, limited training, broken comms/IT stability, changes occur immediately or with little notice) *NO sensible upgrade plans in sight to IMPROVE the system bc they are always fixing bugs and kinks *confusing work team hierarchies, very difficult to navigate how and who to talk to for specific issues, inefficiencies every which way to turn

Smoke and mirrors

Pros

If you are desperate for a job, you can certainly get hired here as they are desperate for people and they have zero requirements for people who have quality or a desire to do a good job.

Cons

Regarding being an employee, I was lied to in the interview and completely misled about what the job was, and they was more misinformation and disconnection amongst the teams then anybody wanted to admit or work on. The CEO gives off a creepy used car vibe and the culture and mission is designed to appeal to people with no work ethic. Regarding what the company does, they're working hard to save people a few dollars a month in the immediate future while they are setting them up for financial disaster two to three years down the road. The business model itself is shady and takes advantage of stupid people who think that refinancing a used car is the best or only option they have.
