Pros

Large company with standard benefits (401k, Heath)

Cons

This review is strictly on reference to Group Sales Mangers. Bonus structure for sales managers is horrible especially based on typical ebbs and flows in the industry. No partial bonus for meeting just rooms or catering goals. If you fall short of either catering or rooms, the shortage is carried over to the next quarter and will compound until year end. This is impossible to make up. If you wish to apply to another Aimbridge property you must use the employee company portal. When you do this your GM and direct manager are notified. Essentially you have to tell your current employer that you want to apply for a job elsewhere, thus opening yourself up to retaliation. Aimbridge states that as a current employee applying to another position, you are automatically granted an interview. This is FALSE! I have had numerous colleagues apply to other properties and this does not occur. You don't even get a call back. Possibly because management can contact the property where you applied and tell them not to hire you. Essentially, as long as Ambridge's management fee is getting paid and owners are happy they could care less how management treats the employees. Members from corporate will come in once or twice a year and ask employees how things are going. Employees feedback is "listened to" but dismissed behind closed doors. Look elsewhere!

Lack of Leadership

Pros

Hotel stay and travel discounts, many advancement opportunities for anyone willing to relocate, and many hard-working people who genuinely care about their work.

Cons

If you are looking to work in the hospitality industry, you would be better suited to work for a corporate operated property and not a 3rd party in most cases. Leadership does not seem to have a clear vision of what they want. Misalignment between what corporate Marriott wants (guest service focused) and what the ownership company wants (revenue). Pay for similar roles in other industries (specifically support roles) are lagging significantly behind. Operating at a skeleton crew level under most circumstances. Most staff will have the responsibilities of multiple staff members.

A toxic,sinking ship

Pros

Free parking is a great perk!

Cons

A lot has happened in this time, but ultimately Aimbridge grew way too fast with a bunch of senior managers who are obviously incompetent, clueless and unqualified. They dedicated more time to office politics and pitting people against each other than to the actual tasks at hand. In their free time away from office politics, they engage in lavish dinners and lunches with Owners picking up the tabs.
