Pros

Working with amazing patients, Doctors, and staff.

Cons

Benefits are horrible. PTO is great, however, if for any reason, emergency or illness with yourself or member of your family, ALL excused and Unexcused absences considered UNEXCUSED even with a CHS Physician written doctors note, so be prepared to be reprimanded under the only 4 occurrences a year, regardless of circumstance , expect to be ridiculed, or written up, or threatened with your job, even though CHS "prides" themselves with providing a work/life balance, yeah, that's a joke. The "lean" system is horrible, work on a bare bones crew, pay them less than any other hospital, and work them as hard and as long as possible, and barely give them PTO, without consequence. Used to be great, but stopped caring about patients and employees.

Pros

There isn't any pros anymore! The reviews that are saying CHS live well is great, and benefits are wonderful, are employees whom work in the HR offices..

Cons

The lab has the biggest turnover in the hospital, phlebotomist often work alone, causing patients lab work to late, and there is times when a patients labs are missed!! no one person can handle ICU, Code Blues, Rapid Responses, all floors and the ED!! the lab is short by 7 people and they will not replace them. Management changes the schedules to fit their needs, they could care less about your home life. We work more days with less hours so we don't have overtime. benefits are horrible. We do the job of three and get paid for one.

Cutting Hours

Pros

401K and PTO is great with years of service

Cons

Company doesn't offer a Pension anymore. Huge job cuts for 2018 and hours cut back causing patient safety and patient complaints. Medical has a very high deductible. No encouragement to grow nor have opportunities to climb the ladder when you are clerical. I've been here over 15 years and I've reached my salary rage which means I can't make a higher salary if I stay with the company longer. Currently looking else where.
