Lied to about pay and advancement, treated foreign people terribly, no operational standards at all, watched many people discriminated on, and watched the good ol boys and girls run about 100+ people off in less than 8 months

Pros

The accounting controller is a very knowledgeable and nice lady, however her team of direct reports run the department and they do not care about staff.

Cons

The team of directors and managers that are running the accounting department do not care for the employees. The staff accountants work long hours with a heavy work load and tight deadlines and management is not changing that. It will become more. Two managers that are remote and have remote teams are the only managers that are team players for their teams. The pay isnt competitive at all in accounting. You will be over worked and under paid. The environment is stressful and morale is down. Whatever you do, do not work in the Corp Accounting. There is a gap between management and staff and management is not doing anything to bridge the gap. They have dusted to write up staff who get there job done but simply forget to document it. However, not all staff is being displine the same. Some staff receive privileges some do not (like access to monitors and working from home). No matter how much OT you work you will not get overtime pay or comp time. The accounting department management makes the job not worth it!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your Atrium Hospitality experience. It is unfortunate that your experience is not as favorable as we would expect. Our commitment to ensure that every Associate has a fulfilling, rewarding and mutually beneficial experience remains a priority for us. Driving an inclusive, transparent and open culture that consistently embodies our core values of "Perseverance, Teamwork, Service and Respect" is at the core of who we are as an organization. As an organization, it is incumbent upon us to hire and promote leaders and managers who, first and foremost, embody our core values of Perseverance, Teamwork, Service and Respect as they play a pivotal role in helping us build a strong, positive and engaged workforce. This is critical to our Associates, our organizational morale as well as the continued success of our business. We will always work with our Associates, leaders and managers to ensure that everyone receives the support they need to achieve the highest and best results imaginable and we will do so, first and foremost, by encouraging open and transparent discussions about how we can all continue to grow and develop professionally and personally. Today, it seems like we are all looking for ways to more effectively balance our personal and professional lives and we don't want either to suffer for it. Yet, we understand that part of what comes with working for a growing company may, at times, mean putting in hours that are demanding. As a company, we recognize that it is important for our Associates to plug into their families after a long work day or week. As we continue to grow, we will hire and place the right people in positions so that we can maintain the staffing levels required for optimal efficiency, performance and results. And when those days or weeks come when we know we are asking people to stretch a little further than usual, we will add some FUN to the equation to show everyone how much we appreciate their hard work and personal sacrifice. Our priority is to cultivate a positive and engaging work environment for our Associates; after all, we are in the hospitality business! In those cases where we have fallen short of that, we want to know so we can respond accordingly. We encourage all associates to utilize our communication vehicles to escalate any issues so they can be addressed in a timely and efficient manner. We appreciate your transparent input and will reflect on it as we continue to make Atrium Hospitality a great place to work. We look forward to your continued partnership in that effort. Thank you!

Pros

In an employees market - it's getting harder and harder to find pros to working for this company over others like it

Cons

This company has a lot of “ideas” that don’t seem to be supported with research, experience or a plan for how these ideas might be successfully executed over time. It gives the impression that upper management just sits around a table competitively throwing out ideas to hear themselves speak and then implementing ideas/policies on a whim that don’t work in practice because they just simply weren’t good ideas to begin with. The even more frustrating thing is that when these ideas fail, they don’t ever change for the better! They just get more and more complicated. If it takes 6 pages, single spaced, to explain a policy – it’s too complicated. Stop trying to be so creative. This isn’t a new industry and we don’t need to rewrite every book ever written. New is only better when it is actually better. I think we all understood that this was a new company and that there were going to be growing pains – but they just keep coming. It’s confusing and frustrating when policies change every. Single. Year. Work/life balance is not a priority with this company and they do not seem to acknowledge the positive impact that it can have on productivity and morale which is unfortunate. There are no paid holidays – but the offices are closed on holidays and you are expected to use PTO. There is no designated sick time - which just encourages people to come to work sick, since they have to use PTO time to stay home. The PTO policy is extremely weak in comparison to other employment options in our area (11 days to include sick time and all holidays!). You aren’t just awarded PTO you accrue it over time – but you don’t accrue it when you take it – so if you actually USE any of your PTO you will never earn the full amount. You are actually penalized for taking a day off! Also it’s almost impossible to calculate how much PTO you will have for future requests, since that policy is also completely overcomplicated. The health benefits are terrible and there is no paid maternity leave option. We have lost great staff members to other competing hotels that pay $10k-$20K more for the exact same position/title and better benefits. If this company wants to remain a competitive employer, gaining and maintaining the best employees, they really need to get on board with a better package. We charge more for a glass of keg beer in our restaurant than we pay the employee serving it for an hour of their time and work. Think about that for a minute...
