Top ten worst (not best) places to work in bay area

Pros

Casual and friendly atmosphere. Free beverages. Free lunch on Wednesday. HR personnels try to help as best they can and arrange fun events to make employees happy.

Cons

Incompetent and clueless management. As management is incapable of understanding the technical issues, all they can do is shouting at others to get things done. Alarming rate of employee attrition. Regular turnover of employees makes other employees nervous and teams highly unproductive, which in turn causes management to pressure more on leftover employees. It's a vicious cycle of mismanagement.

Pros

Benefits Bus pass 16th street mall close (you will need to leave for lunch, trust me) A few cool coworkers

Cons

Everything else! Are you ready for this?? I worked for eFolder just under a year and thank God I am gone now. When I started, I was hopeful. New job, new industry, new stuff to learn. I have been in sales for over 10 years and I have adapted to changes frequently, so bad news, changes to comp plans, etc. never really phased me. I just roll with the punches. That being said, I cannot even believe how messed up eFolder is. I don't even know where to start, but I am going to attempt to paint you a pretty little picture of what it was like inside the walls of floor 39. My OTE was way lower compared to the industry standards. The company likes to celebrate worthless sales members who cannot close anything and then the company craps on everyone else. A few months ago we were told things were supposed to "change" for the better. Well. They didn't. At all. Leads weren't there, and as the overall sales of the floor decreased, the quotas increased. I had to attach my picture to my emails just to get a reply back! Deals will likely never close because the product is so awful that as soon as anyone tested it out at trial, the deal went to die. Most of the closers are completely worthless and couldn't even close lay down deals! They also act high and mighty and better than everyone else. Funny thing about that is, none of them hit quota consistently. Now lets talk about the sales floor vibe. Have you ever been to a library? Well a library is louder than that sales floor. I swear you could hear someone blink! We tried to bring music but then people complained it was too loud so we had to stay in complete silence all day. I would rather be on a date with a serial killer! Overall, the pay is awful, the leadership is awful, the closers are awful, the bus pass is cool, and the location is cool because there is pizza and Starbucks nearby. If you are considering eFolder as your next job, RUN AWAY FAST!!!! You can find pizza and Starbucks almost anywhere.

Great feedback here, and we take it seriously! The Revenue Team at Axcient/eFolder has spent the last few months reviewing quotas to be sure they are attainable in the coming year, and we are positioned for growth. We have dramatically increased our Marketing budget for the second half of the year and we have new sales leadership. A lot of changes have happened over the last 30 days, and our goal is to make sure that our team members are set up for success, and that they are proud to be part of our future as well as our past. Thanks for your feedback!

Pros

- Fun and collaborative work environment - Almost everyone is easy going and friendly - People are enthusiastic and have strong belief in the future of the company - Good work is recognized and sometime instantly rewarded - When help is needed, someone will always be there - Management has open door policy - All the perks mentioned in other reviews are absolutely true without any exaggerations

Cons

- A few people unnecessarily and overtly brown nose without any shame. What’s wrong with just do your work or let your wonderful personality shows? - Some people play a game of intimidation. It’s hard to put a finger on it but you know they’re playing a game. - People often avoid to do the right thing because of 2 reasons: they’re arrogance and it’s easier to turn a blind eye - Company lacks accountability and leadership therefore it is strategically lost - The products and features are poorly designed and shoddily implemented. Ultimately, that leads to sales team cannot sell and customer support’s phones are ringing off the hooks.
