Friendly people, weak product, incompetent management

- The people are friendly and open - Free lunch and drinks - relatively close to the city center - great working hours; no one works ridiculous overtime

Cons

- The product is buggy, hard to use and in direct contradiction to the company vision they keep propagating - Bad pay - Management interferes when there is no need to, and doesn't interfere when they should - There is no energy here. You don't get the feeling that everyone is working towards a common goal. The people don't really believe in the product, they just do their little job, talk bad about management and the product, and go home at 5

Very challenging environment for a JavaScript developer

Pros

Backbase is very strong when it comes to client side development. Company had developed its own commercially successful JavaScript library in the past and overall JS remains its strong side. If you like Object Oriented Programming, design patterns, complex multi-module (yes, client-side) solutions, product rather than project development - Backbase R&D is the place for you.

Cons

Company is very dynamic and everything can change drastically over short period of time. Processes, initiatives and code conventions are subjects to constant change. Not all employees are well managed.
