Pros

* Free health insurance premiums for family (at the price of a lower salary). This is probably a con if you are young, healthy, and single. * 90 minute lunch if you exercise * Culture is good if you're young. Fun first job out of school. * Office is okay. New office will be great in a couple of years.

Cons

* CEO is anti-vaxxer. He made it mandatory to return to the office recently and tried to incentivize returning during peak-pandemic, but refused to implement any kind of health screening. No masks were allowed for a while because he didn't want to show fear. Some employees have been open about not getting the vaccine and you may have no choice but to sit next to them. WFH is not allowed at all * Prayers to Jesus during company meetings. You don't have to participate, but it's awkward when you know your manager is also a devout Christian and they look over at you not praying. * The same few tend to get promoted regularly and they will promote anyone with the right attitude, it seems. There are many underqualified people in management positions. There is a lot of talent there but they don't do enough to keep it. * Salary is well below market. The health insurance offsets this to a degree. * No stock purchase plans for employees. No bonuses. * Desks and chairs are uncomfortable. Invest in nicer furniture at the new office.

A flop of a company

Pros

The people are some of the greatest coworkers I’ve ever had

Cons

Bandwidth’s response to covid was and still has been a disaster. The aggressive return to office plan (“plan” as in “everyone come back on June 2nd”) was obviously not received well, and leadership showed little care for employee’s concerns, and even made statements such as “If you want to WFH this isn’t the place for you” and “There will be covid cases in the office”. And don’t listen to any of the responses here from Bandwidth saying that flexibility has always been an option; it hasn’t. I know of at least 1 employee who was fired for wanting to continue to WFH. They backed off and became a bit more lenient after a huge backlash in slack, but this was too late. Also, covid cases have been regularly occurring in the office, and only recently has leadership been transparent about these cases. The tech (software) org needs help. In the 3 years I’ve been at Bandwidth. the company has grown 3X in employee size (excluding the Voxbone acquisition), yet the tech org has experienced minimal growth. Hiring priorities are heavily skewed to the product and sales orgs, and these orgs are continually putting more pressure on the tech org. You can’t expect more out of the tech org if you don’t hire enough software developers. This pressure also leads to low quality software being built. Time for design, planning, scaling, and tech debt cleanup is not there, and products are basically released as beta features and never become stabilized.

Thanks for your feedback. Indeed we have made very significant adjustments in pay recently to stay competitive with our rapidly changing market. Sorry to hear your experience was not positive.

Pros

Literally nothing. Low pay and no work-life balance. If you want to get promoted have a kid... they really want to lock you in. 99% of promotions were given after someone announced they were pregnant or gave birth.

Cons

Long hours and LOW pay. They get you right out of college and insist on the lowest pay possible you will never get a raise. Their "Raises" are $1000 a year broken over 12 months if you are lucky. Management is brainwashed by the CEO and 2 years into a global pandemic care more about butts in seats than protecting their workforce. You work overtime always as a salaried employee and there is no work life balance whatsoever. This company could care less about you. If I were you I would not work here.
