Pros

-Great culture -PTO program is exceptional. The company really promotes work/life balance. -Easy to connect and work with cross-functional teams -Allowed to run during the work day -Lots of opportunities for growth - if you seize them! -They made a huge investment in manager training, which has made a very positive impact on the company so far.

Cons

-Pay is very low relative to the cost of living in Seattle. It's very hard to get ahead financially - especially if you have a family. -Management is male-heavy.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about Brooks. I'm encouraged to hear about the aspects you value, especially Brooks’ culture, opportunities to connect and grow, and the positive impact you’re experiencing from our manager training program. The topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has never been a greater focus for us a company. Gender balance is one part of that, and we have specific goals in place to ensure it remains top of mind as we recruit, hire, develop and promote women in all areas of our business. Each year we've made progress across our global org: Manager/Supervisor level is now 54% female (up 7% YOY), Sr. Manager/Director level is 37% female (up 1% YOY); at the VP and above level, our split is 29% female (up 8% YOY) including an Executive Leadership Team that is 43% female; and our Board of Advisors is 60% female (up 10% YOY). We will continue our Women’s Speaker Series and Mentorship Program for women and report annually on our progress. Regarding pay, each year we consult third-party market data to benchmark every role at Brooks to ensure salaries remain competitive in our industry and against similar companies. Other benefits unique to Brooks (e.g., our annual bonus program, PTO policy, commuter program, flex work, 401k, gear/race discounts and more) make our total compensation package both competitive and compelling to most. Thank you for all you do for Brooks! Jim

Pros

Many in the organization truly believe in the company mantra that "a run can change a day, a life, the world;" this belief generates a lot of enthusiasm for the success of the organization. In most departments, work-life balance is respected and protected.

Cons

Lack of clarity around who is responsible for making decisions, especially in the eCommerce area of the business. Nearly everyone there thinks that they are an accomplished website designer despite most of them having little to no practical experience in this role.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback -- I appreciate your transparency and constructiveness. I agree with you on your thoughts around our company mantra and the quality of the products we make, so I'm glad you witnessed that. I think the passion and enthusiasm our team has for the run manifests itself in the incredible shoes and apparel we develop and correlates directly to the amazing success we've been having over this decade. I'm likewise pleased you could see the appreciation of a healthy work-life balance at Brooks. I deeply believe that a happy and healthy life includes making time to stay active, pursue passions, and spend time with friends and family. Regarding accountability, across the board this is an area we are all committed to improving. Our strategy calls for a flat organizational structure with distinct functional roles and responsibilities. The focus is on empowering people with clear accountabilities and line of sight to drive ownership for functional excellence. In a fast-moving space like digital, this is even more critical. As I see it, a big part of getting better here is thinking beyond ourselves and carefully understanding how our work intersects with and affects the work of others. As we get better at this and our perspectives broaden, our hand-offs will become smoother, our processes will become clearer, and our problem solving will be quicker and more insightful. One of the ways we're solving this specifically for BrooksRunning.com has been through the recent creation of our V Team, whose primary purpose has been to better integrate our Digital Products, Marketing and eCommerce teams, creating shared goals, clear ownership and accountability, work flows and overall improved cross-functional alignment. I'm excited to see this effort progress! Again, thank you for this feedback. I wish you success and happiness in your next adventure! Jim
