Sorry about your experience here at Build.com. Our work hard, play hard mentality isn't appealing to everyone who is looking for a more formal work environment. Your cons are duly noted. We ARE focused on the metrics, we do extend hours to serve customers when we're understaffed, however we have a lot of personalities and creatives so I would disagree with your statement on personality and dreams. On the topic of personality, as far as me being embarrassing, my wife would probably agree with you as well.

If you're used to a highly structured formal work environment, I can see how you wouldn't have enjoyed the culture at Build.com. We try and introduce people up front to our work hard / play hard mentality. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you. As far as technical debt, a lot of that rests on my shoulders. Bad database structure decisions cascaded down to really tough constraints for our software development and IT teams to work around. Its a slow process but we're removing the debt slowly but surely. Sorry you didn't enjoy your time or end up being a part of our transformation.
