      Pros

      Build.com brought an excellent opportunity for me to grow in an industry I never thought I'd be a part of. It's allowed me to develop countless skills from excel and HTML to photo shopping and merchandising. These are invaluable skills; If you can come up at build.com you can find a job in E-Retail anywhere in the nation, especially since you will have the contact info of everyone in the business! If you are looking to work hard and be recognized for it Build.com is the place in the North State to be. By far the best employer I've had in Chico and the people are great!

      Cons

      Leadership in general around Build struggles. It's a symptom of the get sh** done culture and having everyone be a 'Doer'. Those that can 'figure it out' excel and those that can't flounder with little assistance without a disproportionate level of "Help me!"

      Great review and thank you. Good advice as well as how to deal with our "doer" culture as well. Its a symptom of that and we can do better. I'm sorry to hear about any bonus backsliding. We are constantly turning programs for increased performance, but at a macro level, bonus comp continues to grow every single year per associate.

      Pros

      I got here right out of college and haven't considered leaving yet (4 years tenure). It's a fast-paced yet remarkably relaxed environment to me. There's always smiles and laughter around the office, and generally good times to be had by all.

      Cons

      I really don't have anything bad to say about Build.com. I'll offer this advice, however: If you want to get into another department, don't try so hard to get there. The quickest way to move up at Build.com is to do great at your current job and make sure others take notice.

      Great review, thank you. Much appreciated. Agreed on the cons comment. As far as your advice goes, I'd suggest being put on some sort of performance plan. We really like merit based comp promotions. Don't feel shy to ask for a salary bump if your position is difficult to quantify in that way.

      Great spot to grow your career in Chico. Lot to learn on marketing side of business. Largest marketing team in town.

      Cons

      Your supervisor has a huge impact on experience, but that's true anywhere.
