Pros

Opportunity to work with several high-profile clients and learn a lot.

Cons

An extreme level of exploitation and under market rate pay. A HUMILIATING bonus structure that not removed incentive from working hard it added a disincentive because it was that disturbing and humiliating to be working extremely hard for extermely high-profile clients and get a pathetic bonus. I had a bonus cap of $10k in my 5th year and at the Vice President level. This is the bonus I received when I was making $100k less 13. years earlier in my career. They loved me and promoted me many times. Promotions come with barely (and sometimes less than) a COLA raise. And so there was literally zero growth or reason to work hard. It ruined my motivation and made it impossible to handle the insane hours required. It is also extremely mindless, low level, administrative, overly structured work more often than not even at high levels. I do not recommend this place to anyone at any stage in their career unless you are very early and looking to learn quickly and hopefully make connections. And you limit yourself to 2-years max.

Pros

Some wonderful people who get the idea of work/life balance. Great, though hard, experience in learning technology, Great pay, Opportunities to participate in extracurricular groups of interest to the organization and to the overall philanthropic/nonprofit industry.

Cons

While the organization states that it is very understanding of work/life balance, that is not how it is actually played out. If a client has a need during your vacation, you don't go on vacation. Expectations are that you have more than a basic knowledge and experience in various Microsoft Office platforms (Excel, PPTX) and Google, including ability to code, though that is not stated in any job description. When you have a bad experience internally or externally, it appears to set in motion a process to sort of "squeeze" you out. This is more prevalent on some teams that others.
