Pros

Benefits are good. Work/Life balance id ok only if you are assertive.

Cons

Most of the people in this company are old time employees. So they try to form an old boys club and then boycott anyone who is a threat to them. Most of the managers don't have the management skill...they just became managers in lieu of their tenure in the company. They do not provide opportunities to grow and do not give proper feedback to improvise on a timely basis. They will just wait and then give all the feedback or rather say let loose their thoughts and opinions in the performance review. They will write anything and everything in a way in which they like...no code or ethics to be followed. In a nut shell they can do whatever they want and manipulate their actions in every possible way. Best thing is that the upper management does not mind all this at all !! If the manager has a grudge or disliking towards you then they will do their best to pull you down. Avoid the company !!!

Pros

There are teams of non-management people who work hard. Those people know their stuff, are usually willing to help explain if you ask questions, and are the ones who keep the business running.

Cons

Giving management positions, Director, VP, etc., positions to people who have no leadership experience and/or no business experience and/or no experience doing the type of work they were just asked to help lead (in many cases all three). Not only does this frustrate the professional staff who have 25-28 years of professional work experience, many of the people given those roles do not want to understand the work or learn the details of how to do the job. This causes more frustration for the professional staff. What now occurs is: Leadership with no experience in how to lead and mentor/grow people - but they might know how to manage individual tasks/things. Professionals of considerable experience in their field having to train their management TEAM in their field of work in addition to their current work. Whole departments having to support themselves because their management has no knowledge, training, or ability to coach or provide advice for their day to day work road blocks or tasks.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. I'm troubled by your comments and would appreciate hearing more. For me, Cambia has been one of the kindest work cultures I have experienced, and hearing that yelling or berating employees is taking place is painful. Please reach out and share your story so that I can help intervene. If you would like to raise an issue anonymously, even as a former employee, you can call our Employee Relations Hotline at (888) 224-7491. Pros

When I worked there - they had great benefits. The cafeteria had a nice selection and the different shifts were staggered enough to find something that fits you. They let you decide what you wanted out of your experience. At least on the surface they had all the right tools for a comfortable work place. They used personality assessments to help understand and work with their employees and they had a system for students or medical problems to work part-time for a while. The training was extensive and by the time you were helping real doctors and health professionals with insurance claims you feel confident in your knowledge.

Cons

It's all crap. By the time I was let go, the turnover rate had hit the roof and they could no longer keep long-term employees which is what made their company so great to work for. They no longer cared about their customers either. The co-workers I left behind are all but gone from the company entirely. I developed a condition and got rushed to the hospital from the floor of the company. Because of my insurance I had to wait days and weeks before I could even set appointments but I did not mind. I worried about my job. I didn't know what was wrong with me and it looked like it was going to take a while to find out. I was working part-time and needed constant breaks but I kept coming in every-day. I asked them about my job and if my position was in danger. They promised to let me know. They let me know the day of our reviews - they fired me. They fired me and because of that, I had no insurance. It took even longer to find out that what I had was Fibromyalgia. I would sue - but it has been too long.
