Pros
Some of the people here do mean well, however, most all the truly genuine people left on their own for greener pastures and a brighter future than CapCenter could offer. The office was okay, but being forced to go in-person 5 days a week didn’t sit well with many employees, especially when some were granted flexibility and others weren’t. The company once had a very bright outlook, but I do believe that ship has sailed, not only due to current market conditions, but the reputation as far as a place to work.
Cons
So much of what is actually revealed in some of the true reviews on here (the ones HR didn’t beg people to write in a positive light) is accurate. The culture, the environment, the leadership, the work/life balance, the training, and the pay are all poor, disguised by empty promises. Some people do enjoy it and I hope for all the people who are still there they have a great experience. Make sure if you are looking at a job here to read customer reviews as well. Your name, your face, and your reputation are all on the line in most of the roles that are client-facing and CapCenter tries, but doesn’t really succeed in setting you up for success. It’s a constant cycle of stress working here. Promotions are always attainable if you’re inside the circle…if you “know the family”. However, you can work here and devote all your time and energy to making a difference, but never get a genuine thank you. It looks like they reference their Top Workplaces accolades, but I suggest you actually talk to someone who has worked at CapCenter to get true feedback. I did enjoy parts of my time at CapCenter. I’m glad it was part of my journey of growth and I am still in touch with many of the lifelong acquaintances and friends I met there, but there’s just a lot of room for improvement and I feel bad for anyone caught in the crosshairs of the struggle. The morale was never very good, but I can imagine it’s even worse now with all the layoffs referenced in these reviews.
