Pros

Discount on clothes although sometimes the discount offered to customers was better. Flexible hours for part time employees so it could work great for college students or Mom's with kids in school. You do learn alot of fashion tips and gain confidence even in dressing yourself for future jobs.

Cons

The flexible hours are a good/bad situation. Most times the flexible part is based on the amount of payroll the manager is given for that week, or sometimes, sadly, based on who the manager likes better of the part time employees. You never know very far in advance what your upcoming schedule is, and then it changes day-to-day depending on the sales in the store. You could get your shift cut or have a shift added, you could get sent home after only 2 hours (yeah, THAT was worth coming in for) or you could get asked to stay several hours after you were due to leave. Makes it really hard to have a life, even if the hours technically are part time. If you have a good manager, she will try and keep that to a minimum but a bad manager doesn't "manage" that part well and no one knows if they are coming or going. Too many daily promotion changes with no payroll to get it done. Sometimes the promotions overlap so the customers can "double dip" so your sales don't add up to much and then you get called out by the manager for not making your quota of sales that shift. Not enough payroll hours are a huge problem- sometimes only 2 people working at time and that is not enough to greet every customer walking in the door, answer the phone, give excellent customer service to people in fitting room area, handle all the internet returns at the cash wrap, unpack shipment, change signs and window banners and walk around to make sure you aren't getting ripped off. Can't make any money with the bonus system for larger sales because of all the discounting.

Pros

Many, when I joined Chico's. Now, that would depend upon your expectations. I find not a single pro at this time. If you want to kill some time, earn a few dollars and get a clothing discount, this is the place for you. If you want rewarding full-time employment, this is not.

Cons

* Very intelligent and effective employees treated as misbehaving children, harshly * Constantly, daily changing markdowns combined with use of multiple coupons has, quite deliberately, eliminated the touted "bonus plan". * Threats of being "written up" for the slightest infraction reminiscent of 19th Century boarding schools * Employees encouraged to dial a hotline number to anonymously report rule-breaking colleagues. * Exit interviews non-existent.

Pros

Store team were great to work with and the majority of the customers were fantastic.

Cons

Unrealistic workloads with no payroll to support No support in hiring, so many stores are in crisis mode, the pay rates are low and the incentive is" a great place to learn and grow"? Full time managers lose PTO because they are understaffed and can't take time off No Covid pay, You are out of luck if you don't have PTO to use Upper management is not supportive and just wants us to "gumby" our way through all of this. Unrealistic plans with not enough in store merchandise to sell No support from DM's and you are lucky if your email or call is responded to Pay for assistant managers have them jumping ship to other companies that pay a living wage Stress
