Pros

Working with individuals, children and families. You have a flexible schedule and get to choose where you want to travel to. There is a lot of continuing education classes and trainings. The staff is very helpful. Orientation is a week long, there's a lot of information so you get overwhelmed at times. You are pretty much thrown out right away so its hands on experience.

Cons

You're paid only on face to face hours. Clients can be VERY unreliable. You spend a lot of time doing paperwork and other work that you are not paid on. You are traveling 100% of the time and you are not reimbursed for mileage. You do not get a work cell phone nor do you get reimbursed for using your own phone. You are asked to do something randomly and it needs to be done ASAP (without getting paid to do it). A lot of turnover. People tend to quit before the probation period is over.

Thank you for your feedback Outpatient Therapist in Tampa. I am sorry to read that are not enjoying the most positive experience and if. I'm happy to hear that you enjoy working with your clients and your colleagues helpful. Chrysalis Health strongly believes in learning and development especially in Evidenced Based Practices. If you are still with us, you'll hopefully agree that we've made awesome improvements to Therapist and Case Management compensation structures with bonuses! I encourage you to contact me should you choose to share more at 954-587-1008 Ext. 1014, thank you for your feedback!

Pros

A lot of training and support. When you finally learn how to do your job (bill hours) you can make as much as you want.

Cons

Very stressful. Can be low pay because it is billable (fee for service). You only make what you can bill which takes a lot of time to learn. You can spend hours doing work only to find out that you won’t be paid for it. Very very long hours. More paper work than actually helping clients. They start you off on a stipend that is $300 a week. No work life balance because you’re so busy trying to bill and make money.

Pros

Great supervisor, flexible hours, liked my clients, liked my co-workers

Cons

This job is extremely dangerous. They give you clients that are ridiculously far from your house, which means you will often be driving 3 to 4 hours a day just to meet 4 or 5 clients (the minimum allowed). You pay for your own gas, car maintenance, phone service, printer ink, etc. I've had to drive in extremely hazardous conditions to meet clients during a hurricane because they don't give you enough leave to afford to stay off the roads. You can also forget spending time with family, because you get NO paid holidays. The insurance is so expensive don't even bother. I also found myself spending hours of time at home on the phone with clients, parents, lawyers, probation officers, teachers, case workers, etc. for various reasons such as scheduling. You don't get paid for it! I made more money for less work at a non-profit. I've never worked so hard for so little.

Thank you for your feedback Former Employee. I am sorry to read that you did not enjoy your experience working for Chrysalis Health. We pride ourself on providing a positive and supportive work environment and it sounds as though you were able to experience that. In some areas of Florida, such as Pasco there may be larger zones for clients, however they have been decreasing the size in an effort to continue making improvements. The travel and phone stipends are included in your service rate; however, Chrysalis Health provides all work supplies so I'm not sure why you mentioned printer ink, etc. I wish you well in your future endeavors and hope you found an employer that makes you happy and fits your needs better.
