Pros

Good benefits to compensate low pay like private insurance, discount stores, bike scheme etc. Work life balance is ok but not allowed to work from home. Good work colleagues.

Cons

Very "old school" company, resistant to change. Manager are promoted due to length of service and not due to any skills or performance - leading to pure incompetencies and bad team management. Some of them are literly bullies, driven by number and trying to make SMT happy without caring about their team and employees. Lots of tight deadline, no support, blame culture, overload of work, no appraisal or appreciate which is very damaging to the confidence and mental health of the employees.

Pros

Great work life balance. 9-5 mostly 35 hourly week. would say this is the highlight. 9 months full pay maternity leave Great if you have no career ambition, want a career break

Cons

Lack of experienced qualified management. No career progression a number of deep seated bad apples in the senior management team with preference to the status quo its a charity so dont expect great remuneration and benefits Lots of contractors which are treated better than permenant staff Company competes in a dying market
