Clark County School District reviews

The district is slow to respond. It took over a month from the tome Igot an offer from the school for the HR to finish whatever it is they had to do for me to actually start work. The district and/or the state does not provide enough funding and teachers are routinely expected to pay for materials and curriculum out of their own pockets. In my school, we had not a single current textbook or curriculum resource, teachers were expected to provide paper for any copies that needed to be made, and teachers were expected to provide an extensive classroom library. The students are very challenging in my school.

Terrible new contract thanks to a crappy union, no curriculum, limited supplies provided (be prepared to buy your own copy paper, in addition to a lot of other supplies), teachers are way over worked, too much paperwork, no admin support (at 2 out of 3 schools), lots of meetings taking away time in the classroom, ineffective professional development. Insurance changes leave a lot to be desired.
