Pros

It was remote and the company provided necessary equipment.

Cons

I worked in the Underpayments department and I liked the culture and workload... Until the merger with R1 when middle management completely mishandled it and did not prepare the teams well enough. The teams ended up getting unnecessary pressure for the things the management did not prepare well.

Pros

Nothing, the management is quite bad and the WLB is terrible. Lied about promotion and pay increases as well

Cons

Extremely boring and monotonous work that pays very low amounts. No longer travel to client hospitals so jobs here are not worth it at all

Pros

I would only recommend this company to new graduates who are interested in healthcare or want to get their start in consulting, AND are having difficulty finding another position. The pay and benefits are decent, and although there is a steep learning curve, you get a lot of training, support, and feedback. It's a good opportunity to get experience in healthcare revenue cycle and get your foot in the door with consulting/corporate work even if you don't have prior experience.

Cons

I started at Triage before the merger into Cloudmed. The merger has created a lot of new problems without fixing any of the issues that were present at Triage. Triage was very focused on company culture and professional development, and the merger has eroded that as it is a much more numbers-focused company now. There used to be room for growth, but now a lot of the roles are becoming highly specialized so people don't get the same broad exposure as before and the jobs are more monotonous. At the same time, project teams' and internal teams' workloads are increasing drastically but there is still a strict tenure-based model for raises and promotions. Management is much less transparent than before and all of the legacy companies are pretty siloed. Due to the huge focus on performance while the company is understaffed, leadership has taken to "punching down" and shifting the blame of any gaps in performance to the people doing the legwork rather than the people at the top setting unrealistic goals. Although there has been improvement, the company still struggles with D&I and white employees are not held to the same standard as employees of color.

Thanks for your review. Cloudmed continues to grow at a remarkable rate – adding new clients, analysts and leaders in all parts of the business. We’re very proud of the companies that comprise our heritage, including the awesome team from Triage, that have come together to create a compelling company that customers and employees value. Cloudmed continues to change and evolve. There remains lots of room for employee growth and development, it’s not just straight-lined like many were used to. Some employees are becoming more specialized, but more roles are opening up too. Some won’t like the new path because it’s different or there is more accountability than before. Covid has certainly had an impact too. While some parts of the culture were mostly face-to-face and people intensive, the change to remote work has altered how and how frequently we interact. That should begin to change in the next year as well. Cloudmed’s best days are ahead of us with a lot of opportunity as we grow. Thank you for your contributions to the company - good luck in all your future work.
