Pros

Plenty of Training and overtime opportunity from time to time. Great place to start if your prior knowledge is EQUAL to "NONE".

Cons

While working there "PAY FREEZE FOR 3 YEARS". Not a single person got a raise. Then the company meeting with Phil Friedman we had to sit there and listen to a man who was more than willing to pay very low to the employees with very bad compensation package and insurance that cost high(that majority of employee couldn't afford at less than 11$ an hour rate). Also, had the face to compare his company with other companies as to how the pay was. Instead of actually paying a decent amount for families to be able to live with. Everyone in the room was 11$ hour or less besides the CEO and his 2 security guards. Extreme High Call Volume. Expect to be cross trained in plenty accounts. Expect your schedule to change every 3 months or less. Shift bids occur and Seniority takes the good ones. Call Quality every week, if you perform at 85% or lower expect your shoulder to be tapped while on the call and told to go on meeting after the call to go to a private room to talk about "YOUR BAD PERFORMANCE". Master Tech program only existed for those who already had it prior. Not for new employees. Expect to be told that your calls should last 15 minute or less. Anything longer than 15 minute you either get sent a message on the chat or they are behind you asking you whats going on.

Thanks for your review – it is unfortunate to hear how you feel. We learn from every review so we can continue to get better. I understand from your review that you left the company. We work hard to ensure our pay practices are competitive to the local market and equitable across internal peers. We don’t view employees as replaceable and have multiple channels, both public and anonymous, to answer questions and hear concerns. Listening and engaging directly with our employees is one of our core values and we are proud of the direct and transparent dialog we have daily at CGS. Tali Rabin SVP HR

Pros

Some of the people are really sweet

Cons

When I first started at Computer Generated Solutions it was my first experience t a company with over 5,000 employees. There was no training for my position and they have a "throw you in the fire" type of approach to training, which leads to a lot of confusion and boredom. After my first week there, I had more than 5 different employees say "I'm surprised you are still here" or "It's good to still see you here", which is an eerie thing to hear from your coworkers. Almost like they have seen so many come and go very quickly. After some time there I saw that this is actually the ordinary. Many people leave and it is due to the outdated benefits, perks, and structure that surrounds the company as a whole. Vacation days are scarce and you have to accrue them for 6 months before you even have access to them. For some who may experience an emergency, it can lead to you being in a tough situation. The company's only perks in the office are free coffee, casual Fridays and access to American Expresses cafeteria (where the food grows old quickly) and free fruit on Fridays, but only two pieces. If you take more than two you might be given a stern talking to. For the company, they act that these perks are a big deal where when you look at really any other company these perks are below the norm. Over my time at this company, my direct boss had said some pretty inappropriate things to me regarding size, what I wear to work and basically treated me like I was below him any chance he could get. During my interview with him he basically just told me about all of his experience like I was trying to hire him or he had to prove that he was better than me. Overall some of the people at CGS are great and are truly a reason why it still stands today, but after awhile if they continue keeping young talent from staying at the company everything will go downhill. Oh and I almost forgot the recruiter at the company will constantly send emails, talk to you and ask all new hires to fill out a Glassdoor review, which some might say is tacky and I agree. Instead of asking us to write glassdoor reviews to boost up your ranking you might want to change some of the outdated benefits so that the employees will want to do them themselves.

Pros

Like everyone, I have been reading the CGS's reviews and was overwhelmed by what I was saw: the negative feedback, long hours, low pay, etc... . Still I gave it a try. The hiring process was pretty smooth. The hiring manager was friendly, upfront and correctly portrait the culture of the company. Training is 2 weeks in the classroom and 2 weeks on the floor. ( the trainer is excellent I may add) The most difficult day is the first day on the floor answering the calls . Don't be afraid. You will have a lot of help. I have now been working at CGS for a couple months. Apart from the financial aspect, which is what it is, this is a fun place to work for those with the right attitude. You are friendly, people will appreciate you. You are willing to learn, you will grow and learn a lot. Yes policies changes and sometime procedures change on who you ask for, but that is the same in pretty much every company that is evolving. CGS is going through a lot of changes and they are a lot of opportunities for those with the right attitude. My opinion changed 180 degree in just 3 weeks.

Cons

Schedule get some time to get use to.
