Leaders Poisoning Employee Experience

Pros

The vast majority of the colleagues I worked with were competent and brought measurable value to the organization. The benefits are also excellent, including comprehensive health coverage as well as an unlimited PTO policy that's actually utilizable. I felt that my work/life balance was consistently supported by my team as well as the company overall.

Cons

The return to office discourse has been an absolute nightmare. Leaders parrot that the 4-day in-office policy is "flexible" while requiring colleagues who live within 50 miles of an office location (even those who were originally hired as fully remote) in seat from M-Th with no exceptions, regardless of job function. In the same breath, leaders then promise punitive measures, including explicit threats of termination, for employees who do not or cannot comply. The communication regarding these policies has been disjointed at best; the majority of specific information I received about them was through the rumor mill rather than from direct, official communications. In addition, employees that live outside of a commuting zone are passed over for promotions and higher-level project assignments; I would not be surprised if this was an informal directive from senior leaders as well. The communication style the senior leadership team employs is toxically positive, avoidant, and wrought with red herrings. They choose not to discuss real employee concerns in favor of data points that underscore how "well" the business is performing for the transparent purpose of placation. Across teams, raises have been consistently low, and year over year colleagues have complained about a dearth in bonus funding that, as far as I'm aware, has never been actually addressed. Not only are the CEO and senior leaders woefully out of touch, they choose to blatantly ignore, as well as institute policies that directly contradict, the majority of their employees' concerns.

Pros

Comptetive and supportive environment and people

Cons

Unfortunately after management decided that everyone has to return to work, even those of us that were hired fully remote prior to the pandemic even happening. I thought I found a place to work at permanently, but now I have to leave

Pros

The people I work with, but that doesn’t pay the bills.

Cons

RTO is now mandated for everyone M-Th, so if you’re looking for any flexibility, this isn’t the place for you. Colleagues who were fully remote prior to COVID and were told it was permanent have been lied to, so don’t expect any transparency from leadership. CEO is out of touch and works for shareholders. They will say the company has a culture of care, but that doesn’t extend to employees. There are better work places that aren’t reverting to the dark ages. Stay far away.
