Pros

Co workers are amazing people to work with such as the other behavior therapist! Love the coworkers they are so kind and dedicated! Great families to work with in the field.

Cons

This company is extremely unethically with behavior programs. Supervisors come out only once every three or four months which causes their employees who are not certified with a BCBA to run and move along programs! This is not how to run behavior programs. This company teaches their employees to make the children prompt dependent and to have parents rely on the behavior therapist and supervisors "to fix" their child. (The company comes off to families as if they can "cure" and "fix" their child which is shameful for the director to allow this type of image) They only focus on having the children work on worksheets to help with their academic goals. They even put in Speech and Occupational therapy programs which is also unethical since there is not one single person in that company is qualify to implement such as programs because they do not have certification in that field. They do not have parent training and the employees and supervisors do not help provide or teach parents strategies. This company is not a model place if you trying to move up in the field. This company have malpractice constantly and find excuses to justify it. They misuse hours for 1:1 and use parent training hours for report writing or for 1:1. It is unbelievable what they do just so they can stay around to take advantage of these families. I am always surprise this company lasted for so long. They treat their families like money bags and over work their employees with little pay and vacation time.

Hi, thank you for your review. I apologize that you did not have a positive experience at Creative Solutions for Hope. Our Supervisors/BCBA's are always available by phone if a therapist needs them. Additionally, they do provide trainings and overlap for Behavior Therapists that need extra support. Regarding practices, all of our Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists are certified. Our Entry-Level Behavior therapists do not need a degree, but in order to move up in the field and become a BCBA, you do need a Master's and a certification. We do parent training as well. We want to do our best as a company for the children. Please email us with any concerns at info@cs4hope.com. Thank you.

CSH lack of trust

Pros

The client’s are great to work with- it’s really the only reason people stay. You will learn a lot about ABA if you’re driven.

Cons

The management team micro-manages, and they are always looking to blame someone. There is no trust- simple things like office supplies are kept on lockdown and you have to ask permission to do anything. CSH doesn’t keep up with technological advances and therefor staff waste time and energy calculating data and creating graphs that should be done in an instant by a data crunching app. This leads to the staff and management team charging clients $$$$$$ for their lack of preparation. The management team is very reactive. I mean this in that as ABA professionals, you would think they would use these tactics in the organization as well (reinforcement, antecedent strategies, etc)... but they do not. It is always 1. Something happens, 2. Punishment is delivered, 3. Reactive strategies are put in place (new policies, new rules, etc). Nobody is on the same page... there are alllll of these rules, yet people only have to follow them with certain BCBAs and if they are liked. The rules don’t apply equally to everyone.

We do agree that our clients are exceptional, and that our team is very driven and are knowledgeable in the ABA therapy field. To address your statement regarding the supplies, the office supplies are kept in an unlocked room for ease of access, as trust, is an integral part of our company here at CSH. We believe that trust is built on integrity and honesty, and CSH provides growth opportunities to those that demonstrate trustworthy behaviors. However, if you are referring to our medical and clinical files, then yes, absolutely, CSH does work hard to ensure that all of our client information is safeguarded for our client’s privacy. To ensure we protect our client data from HIPAA violations, and breaches of the BACB ethical codes; we have put extra precautions in place to ensure that our client’s medical and clinical files are secure. Employees may have to ask the administrative team to accompany them to specific locations of the office that contain client or medical files, for HIPAA compliance purposes. Our staff are cognizant of the HIPAA regulations, so they understand the protocols in place to avoid any breaches. As a former employee growing in this field, we would hope that you would understand the importance of protecting client information, and abiding by the HIPAA regulations and laws. We choose to maintain the data collection process as we have found that this provides the clinical team with a paper trail of the data collected; whereas a technical device may cut time down in the moment, it may create more time to try to rectify the paperwork if there was a technical glitch. CSH has many reinforcing incentives for our employees to engage in, (i.e. Employee of the Month, Employee Anniversary Celebrations, Holiday Gatherings, etc.). Based on the continuous growth of the ABA therapy field, our company remains flexible by creating policies that are aligned with the ever changing field to best benefit our staff and clients. All staff equally follow the same protocols specified in New Hire Training, stated in the Employee Handbook, reminded in the Companywide trainings, and recapped again by supervisors of the company.

Pros

The supervisors that I had the pleasure of learning from were very insightful; however there is a high turnover rate, so they are constantly changing supervisors. The best part of working here is most definitely the families. Every client I have worked with have all been loving and supportive.

Cons

There are so many issues with this company- from unpaid hours to blaming others for simple mistakes. The scheduling department often faulted my supervisor and I for not updating the schedule even though we submitted the correct forms on a weekly basis to inform them of the changes. They would send emails saying, "You failed to...." Since the schedule would not be updated on time, I would have to ensure that I was being paid accurately. This was such a tedious process to do on a weekly! At first, I overlooked the hours, but as time went on I realized it happened more often than it should occur for a "professional company."

Hello, Thank you for you your feedback! We do agree, we have very knowledgeable staff to assist in any realm of the ABA therapy field, so we are pleased to hear you had a positive experience! Clients and their families are of the utmost importance to our company, so it is great to hear you valued your cases, as we do! All worked time is compensated, as our scheduling department works diligently to ensure that all sessions are confirmed accurately. Because the field of ABA therapy requires employees to be out in the field, an employee with strong communication skills, and an employee that is proactively checking their schedule, will create a streamlined process throughout the company. Any concerns regarding the ability to work, should be addressed with the Human Resource department, within the company, through the many avenues that we have available. Our current staff continue to flourish in the field, and understand the proper avenues to address concerns if any. We show our appreciation of our current staff by awarding Employees of the Month with gift cards, celebrating their Anniversary with the company handing out a $100, and providing an ongoing Mentorship program for them to participate in. Our current staff are shown our gratitude for their dedication to our company, ongoing. As stated, the Los Angeles office continues to grow and we look forward to seeing the region progress as it expands!
