      Interesting work. Job security. Fridays off

      Cons

      Transparency is gone, replaced by bland corporate speak and CYA. 60 hour workweeks. Communication problems getting worse.

      Good in some areas, not so great in others

      Pros

      Embraces technology and strives for innovation. Many different product offerings for Defense and Mass Transit customers.

      Cons

      When Cubic was public, there was substantial inorganic growth through acquisitions. Onboarding those companies and utilizing their potential was inefficient and lead to a loss of synergy throughout the company. Cubic was acquired by Veritas Capital and new executive leadership installed. So there has been/will continue to be lots of restructuring.

      Great people in the trenches, solid managers, execs only chase numbers

      Pros

      -Lots of opportunity to grow and work on different types of projects -Large company has traditionally provided significant stability (if a program ends unexpectedly, there are often openings for similar skillsets to keep folks on staff) -Good environment to learn some non-engineering business skills and participate in bidding support business development

      Cons

      -Some of the best VPs I've ever worked with/for are pushed out, and some of the most toxic and incompetent are promoted continuously -VPs do not share bad news up the chain to SVPs, and SVPs don't share bad news up to CEO, allowing a lot of rot and high impact failures since priorities become misaligned as ground truth diverges from plans -Frequently see initiatives and campaigns kick off to impress the Board, but they rarely succeed or complete
