      Pros

      Cubic used to be a great company. The ability to have your work touch the lives of millions is something you don’t get everywhere. Most employees are really nice and supportive of each other. The HQ is lovely with gym and basketball court.

      Cons

      Unfortunately current PE ownership is completely directionless resulting in high debt levels, huge layoffs, reductions in benefits (9/80, remote working), and a general inability to deliver on major projects resulting in large offshoring efforts to India. This has meant pay has stagnated and there is very little upward mobility for employees who are often expected to take on more work and more responsibility for no compensation.

      The teammates are very helpful.

      Cons

      Cubic is owned by Private Equity, and they have been employing a lot of cost cutting such as multiple rounds of layoffs, removing benefits like the $850 annual Lifestyle spending account, no more free EV charging (due to selling the property and doing a leaseback, so the new owners now charge employees for EV charging), and getting rid of the 9/80 schedule. They are also planning on implementing staggered shifts so instead of employees coming in to the office 8a-5p, different employees would come in at different times of the day.

      Decent pay, low stress, nice work flexibility

      Cons

      Everyone who knew how the product works has left. All the development is done by new teams India who also don't know how the product works. All projects are now years behind schedule. Its tough disappointing our customers month after month and there is nothing I can directly do to change that.
