Pros

Being part of the cannabis industry, fully remote, and a flexible schedule with a pretty good salary (benefits and PTO were great too). The people I worked with are hands down the best part of this company (a lot of them have recently been laid off alongside me though). Never have I worked with such caring and supporting team members and managers. Both of my managers were incredibly kind and believed in me and gave me opportunities and I learned so much from them and my colleagues; it was truly a world class team and I feel lucky to have been part of it. Nothing but gratitude and appreciation for all of them!

Cons

Surviving 3 rounds of layoffs/ RIF over 6 months, then getting blindsided by a new round of layoffs 3 weeks before Christmas? That’s probably the biggest con on my mind right now. A pretty close second was having to watch the CTO smile as he told everyone in an All Hands that there was now another round of layoffs happening - but not to worry! We have LOTS of money in the bank and we’re so excited about the future and all the amazing things coming! And then the Zoom screen fills with happy emojis while a bunch of people are about to lose their job. Really loved that. Also so glad the new CEO is stoked on how much money is in the bank and how long the runway is and all the amazing things coming in the future. What an exciting time for you! Every single time there have been layoffs/ RIF they’ve talked about how much money is in the bank and how long the runway is… maybe the next leadership offsite could be a retreat to learn about bedside manner? Peoples lives are being upended weeks before a major holiday. Save the good news for another meeting (empathy is one of your values, remember?).

Trash company

Pros

Cannot think of a single one.

Cons

No chance for advancement even after requesting multiple times. Not flexible at all with time off. Hours until 10pm, even on weekends. Ross the CEO is sexist, does not understand social programs, cannot grasp the aspect of diversity. Basically is just a white guy with money that thought invading the cannabis industry was a good idea. Started out as a company with integrity and has completely fallen off to company that stands for nothing. Have lied to us multiple times about not issuing lay-offs and laid of a MASSIVE chunk of the company while at the same time told us they were in a great position to hire people. Laid off more and more people. Internal talks of lay offs were CONSISTANTLY a thing. They just laid off 71 people JUST before xmas. Severance is miniscule if anything at all. Forced multiple employees to sign severance after a coalition of women stood together to renegotiate their severance. EXTREMELY unprofessional, not willing to hear anyone out/has a MASSIVE ego. Sexist, underlying racist tone, xenophobic, this is just a trash leadership highjacking and exploiting an industry that should be more inclusive to people. This company will go under in a year tops.

Pros

Company is an industry leader and has customers. Good compensation

Cons

Leadership team is beyond over their heads. Never taking input from experience hires while over hiring with no oversight has meant multiple rounds of layoffs. Slow adoption of products they spent 100M in R&D to develop likely means more headcount problems in 2023 and a future down round. Faux authenticity from leaders and HR. All talk with limited action and meaning behind anything they say and communicate. Cringe worthy at times.
