Pros

Free Coffee, lunch when showtime. Do not require experience, one year is enough for being promoted to managerial positions. Cool job, just learn how to push buttons in certain order. Easy to impress decision makers, just say “yes”.

Cons

No cons, actually these are blessings in disguise. The personal growth is limited only when aspire to be more than push-button operator. But better and easy is to get promoted in managing position which is easy when you can agree to decision makers without any resistance. Seniority is just a number. One cannot blame leadership for intimidation if you cannot say “yes”.

Thank you for the feedback. It is always welcomed and helps us continue to improve our work environment. We would like to offer clarification on the topics that were highlighted. We hire employees with a wide range of experience, from recent graduates to mid-career hires. Promotions are based on criteria, performance, interest, capability, and experience (through our company and previous work and leadership positions). Our workforce is required to follow standard procedures, but also to set-up equipment, prepare materials, analyze and interpret data, communicate with customers, and troubleshoot processes and equipment. The organization is focused on continuous improvement, so we actively engage in people development to include training, formal education, and job assignments/rotations. With respect to this facility specifically, we have on-site leadership that are engaged in daily activities. We also have corporate leadership that supports the site remotely. The pandemic prevented the normal site engagement, but as travel has resumed, so has their presence at our site. Ours is a healthy relationship, and the site leadership is empowered. We have an employee engagement team and a site leadership team committed to continuous improvement. The coffee, lunches, and gift cards are only a small part of the picture. Our human resources function is fully engaged and has active processes that evaluate things like salaries, promotions, job rotations, and feedback to help us identify improvement areas, develop action plans, and execute efficiently to continue to improve the work environment. All companies experience attrition, both voluntary and involuntary. Employee retention is a significant focus for our team. We would never state that an employee was not worthy of being part of our EAG family. Our retention continues to improve year over year, largely due to the efforts that were just described. These efforts are not short-term, but rather have become part of our culture. And, we remain committed to effective hiring, employee development and engagement, internal promotion, and retention. Thank you.

Eurofins EAG is commited to employee development and engagement. We have implemented an employee engagement team that develops and implements activities based on feedback directly from the workforce. Additionally, we have active programs related to cross-training, process improvement, safety improvement, and skills development. Each year we develop a cross-training plan and monitor compliance. Last year, there was cross-training in all four departments and represented 25% of the workforce. We were unable to do external training, but we did train on-line skills training for another 15% of the organization. These numbers exclude the development team and are specific to operations. We have a cross-training plan for this year that is at least equivalent to last year and involves different employees. Our improvement teams are cross-functional, one related to safety/training and one related to quality. We just launched an optical microscopy training program that is self-nomination. I hope that helps you craft a response. If you have questions or require additional information, please let me know. Thanks.

Pros

I never joined this company with the intention of staying for very long. I looked at them as a way to boost my resume so that I could propel myself to the next level in my career. The experience I gained along the way was exactly what I was looking for. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for Nanolab. Thanks to all the people who helped me out!

Cons

I wasn’t here long enough to see any cons. Nothing major anyways.
