ECPI University reviews

This is probably the worst company I have ever worked for. I was lucky enough to build decent relationships with my co-workers who have been supportive and guided me through the how-to's of laying low so management doesn't rip your head off. For ECPI, production and progress are never enough- so get ready to be demeaned and put down! Higher management speaks extremely disrespectfully to their employees and does not believe in the concept of reward for good performance. They truly do not value their employees and consider people as numbers. Most people would expect basic inflation pay raises so they can AT LEAST live within their means- nope. High-performing employees will receive the same raise as the lowest-performing employee. They are typically always short-staffed and do not hire anyone new so they can save a buck- then the current employees are expected to do more so that they can accommodate the business, but never for more pay and NEVER are praised for going above expectations. During COVID it became evident that they were not concerned for their employees getting sick or being around the general public. Those that had to be home in 2021 had to take their PTO to be home (still were expected to work) because they were afraid when a global pandemic was happening and their family members were falling ill and going to the hospital..??? Major communication issues occur between departments constantly. If you are not at your desk the full 8.5-9 hours of the work day you are "not working" and this has to be addressed. For special circumstances you need to take pto (funerals, doctor's appts, mental health needs) other employees have to cover your "shift" and if there is not coverage you can not take take off. It is not the staff's responsibility to cover where the business will not staff appropriately. This needs to be fixed. The most frustrating part of working here was trying to stay open-minded and positive about the position. Annual reviews are encouraged by the highest management to only give menial numbers so that they don't have to pay their employees more- even if they are going above and beyond expectations. pretty pathetic they can't read a basic management manual to be a decent leader. Staff also needs to be a bit more diversified for the diverse student population it attracts. work hours are crazy long and have switched schedules. work life balance is awful.

Profits over education EVERY TIME!!!!!! Lack of leadership and poor management throughout the entire organization! Predatory business practices. Veterans BEWARE, the school only cares about getting your GI bill! Unorganized and short-staffed! They are always short-staffed, and they drag their feet to hire anyone so they can save money on paying salaries and benefits; therefore, you will always be overworked and underpaid! Policies and procedures are situational and individualized. Basically, any "rule" and even grade can be changed to ensure the university is making money. PTO policy does not benefit the staff, it benefits the university! Staff must use their PTO when the university is closed which leaves them with little to no PTO to use throughout the school year. Don't get sick or let LIFE happen because you won't have any PTO to use. The favoritism for certain elite employees is palpable! Some people can do no wrong while others can do no right! No training! You will basically be thrown into your job and will be required to figure it out as you go!
