Poor Leadership, Nepotism, Bad HR Practices

Pros

There is decent pay & benefits, but ultimately not worth the treatment.

Cons

Like others have commented, there are far too many unqualified, dishonest, and self-serving individuals that have been put in leadership roles at Envista. The culture is a cut-throat environment and employees are cut down, often publicly, and not treated well no matter how hard they work. You will get taken advantage of. I was often not paid overtime when I had been asked to work - was told the company would compensate me with hours or a day off here and there, which I believe is illegal. I also personally experienced retaliation from my manager when issues of verbal abuse were relayed to HR. Many people I have worked with had issues with the Head of HR that were ignored/dismissed because of the loyalty he has with the CEO which resulted in a high turnover rate of staffing at every level. If you're related to the CEO, there's definitely a higher chance of upward mobility, or as long as you fake it til you make it by kissing up to those who are allied with the CEO.

Company in trouble

Business Outlook

Pros

Solid products, great people, interesting industry

Cons

Leadership is a revolving door, leaders that look good on paper but don't really understand the complexities of the business or understand sales, no real growth strategy, continually cutting headcount to hit EBITA, struggling with top line growth, too much change for there to be any results or momentum gained

Do Not Work Here

Pros

Work flexibility, open communication with managers

Cons

Long hours, yearly raise not even close to inflation rate, training disorganized, no real work structure To elaborate, during monthend, you are expected to work the weekend before, then on the following Mon, Tues, and Wed of monthend close, you will be working around 14-16 hrs a day. Then you are expected to complete critical recs(which include long bank reconciliations) by that Friday. This is pretty much impossible since there are many times there are issues with the close and by day Thursday, there are still lingering issues preventing you to work on those recs due by Friday. If they are not complete, you are pressured to work on them over the weekend(so working 2 weekends in a row), otherwise by Monday, everyone will see in the email that is sent out that you didn't complete the critical recs. This will impact your review down the road. During the rest of the month, you have other projects/tasks to complete on top of the remaining (there is alot) recs to finish before the next monthend close. It becomes stressful and you almost feel like you can't take a day off. You are given "unlimited PTO" which is a scam because you are limited on when you can take time off. You can't take time off the last week or the first week of the month due to monthend close and if it is a quarter close, you can't take the 1st two weeks of the month or the last week of the month off. Also, the company has company holidays, but don't expect to be able to take all those off. If the holiday falls during monthend close, yep you have to work. There is a reason this company has a high turnover, they don't care about life/work balance, what they pay you, or your workload even after repeated meetings when it is brought up.
