Pros

It is employment versus unemployment. And, that is about it.....

Cons

The people are the cons. The mangement staff has been there forever and runs like a dynasty; a poor dynasty at that. If you work here, you will receive all of the below: Micromanaged to the point of insanity Threatened Bullied Spoken down to, like you are a child. Think back to living with your parents when you were a child. That is how they speak to you daily. Belittled Verbally abused Severely overworked with no verbal appreciation or compensation whatsoever What they refer to as "challenged" is aggressively spoken toward with unachieveable and unbelievable expectations Treated poorly and lead you to believe this is normal Stay far away..... Applicants Beware. Treat this review as a public service announcement to steer clear and avoid at all costs. Working for a slave driver could quite possibly be better because that is basically what you will get working for them.

Pros

-Discounted Rooms -Occasional Theme Park Tickets -Free Meals -Ample Parking -Great Location -Help is available in regards to work if your stuck on something -Occasional raffles and company events

Cons

-The Micromanagement is REAL - you'll be hounded for everything and all that you do - The Stress is HIGH -THE PAY IS LOW. If you aren't a Jim Chester or an Ilsa Butler, you'll be rubbing pennies together on your checks. -Overtime is non existent -There is no company culture. Employees barely speak to each other outside of their department. A little but not a whole lot -NO rewards for hard work. They'll throw an ice cream party or pizza party vs giving people raises. 50 cents and $1 dollar raises are slaps to the face -During Jim Crow, they may have practiced Jim Crow laws. People have called asking if the resort still allows Jim Crow. Just sad. -Ethnic groups do not get promoted to higher up positions. Maybe a supervisor or assistance supervisor, that's it. NO manager, no Director etc. -HR is almost useless. HR is there to protect the business NOT the employee. They will NEVER be in the employees favor, ever.

Micromanaging Creeps

Pros

Beach, and none, none and none

Cons

Too many managers that don’t actually do anything. Systems (both their ancient computer and employee micromanaging) is insane. They bully, threaten, and belittle their employees to the point of nausea. Love the (CEO) with the dogs as well. He’s an entitled leader that lives in a bubble and thinks an Ivy League education gives him the right to look down on people. The whole culture of this hotel runs on the “I’m better and smarter than you, so just do what I say philosophy.” Employees of the the hotel are great, but they buy this and follow like lambs to the slaughter. I saw people in tears after being torn down by management on multiple occasions. Just a terrible company with an entitled culture.
