Intensely inept leadership

Pros

Work from home, colleagues, time off policies

Cons

The executive leadership at Evolve has demonstrated they're ill prepared for navigating a company of this size, and many of the people that got Evolve in a terrible situation have since left (Chief People Officer, Chief Finance Officer, EVP Customer Experience, etc). Sadly, these leaders who refused to listen to logic worshipped at the alter of growth with massive technical debts and conflicting vision, eroding the cash balance over the last year. Efforts to educate about unit economics, poor processes, misguided forecasts and simple operations were ignored, then layoffs ensued. The CEO is a joke who wastes company time cheerleading then talking about how things are harder for him than those impacted by his pure lack of ability or self-awareness.

Pros

You can work from home

Cons

I worked at this company for 3+ years. After working my way up, we went through 2 upfront layoffs and several "quiet" layoffs where they didn't mention that people were being let go. We were told that our entire team would be eliminated then told that it would not be so we lived with stress for months- wondering if we had jobs. The new "fearless leader" even recorded a video saying, "everyone at Evolve has a place here! You are valued!" What a crock. Less than a week later, our team was dissolved after being promised that it wouldn't be. One teammate was on leave when they had to get on a zoom call to be let go. They lie. To everyone, all of the time. I need lifelong chiropractic care from all of the whiplash I've experienced because management doesn't know what they're doing. They hide information from lower managers and then pull a 180 on them. They are laying off everyone and anyone with tenure so don't think your loyalty matters. And you know how they'll spin these layoffs? "Look how great our profit margin is!!" They want to hire robots and people who won't push back. Don't have any opinions on anything because they cannot stand free thinkers.

Pros

Good PTO, good pay (if you fight for it)

Cons

The leadership at Evolve has comfortably settled into their position of demanding "high performance" from everyone, all the time. Teams have been squeezed down to the bare minimum, and whoever is leftover is expected to handle several large projects at a time with no commensurate pay increase. You are expected to prove your worth week in and week out, or else be fired. Yeah, people are still being fired. You will be promised relief in the form of new hires that never come. All of the cycling of people leads to enormous wells of knowledge lost. Also I've seen many deserving women be turned down for promotions when they should've gotten them! I haven't spoken to a single person at Evolve that doesn't feel this is true. The culture has been rotted to the core.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We appreciate your continued commitment over the past several years and are glad to hear you’ve found value in our PTO and compensation. We’re sorry to hear that your experience has felt unsustainable and disheartening. We are committed to a customer-obsessed and high-performing culture. We care deeply about our teammates and have taken a focused approach to listening and responding to teammate feedback through a variety of channels. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to share more through direct channels like your People Business Partner or engagement surveys. Thank you again for your honesty and the impact you’ve made.
