I worked for Medco for 11 years then ESI for 3. ESI has an awful environment, no communications between csr's, supervisors, floor manager and managers. Fast pace that does not let up. ESI ask you to do more and more each day but never trains you and expects perfection when we live in an imperfect world. No forgiveness for small errors just punishment. Work your butt off, get a 'stretch' on evaluation but no raise given. Work hours are inconsistent, you could work 9-5 then work 11-8, then work 5-2. Doesn't matter how many years you have in. ESI is all about the money, while Medco was about the patients and employees.

Business is led like a manufacturing, not healthcare, environment. There is very little formal management education for leaders. Many of them have simply "come up" through the company but lack essential minimum skills and abilities. They also work hard to protect themselves as a first priority. Pay is low and lots of increasing workload and expectations. A constantly anxious work environment with no room for promotion or growth.
