Pros

Reasonable pay and competitive benefits

Cons

Let me paraphrase: "Shut up and do your job". Yep, that's about right. Don't you guys get that ESI has been voted the worst company to work for in America? There's a reason for that.

Pros

only if you have need for a job, there are NO PROS. Even mgmt is concerned that they are No 1 worse company to work for, having focus groups. Why do only a superficial job in finding out the problems? why not talk to all who have been there for yrs?

Cons

poor benefits (many benefits were cut for former Medco employees), including vacation time, pay for time off if out for medical leave, 100% vs 60-70%, retirement cash balance, bonuses unless you are in the upper echelons. The employees who do every day work are poorly rewarded. These employees make mgmt look good, but not rewarded. Constant turnover of poorly trained, skilled csrs or "PCA's), who answer the phones every day. Many sound like they flunked out of 8th grand English "no got".... Poor communication from mgmt, constant chg in SOP's, no time to read emails (not allowed if you are talking to callers), micro-management of employees, metrics-metrics, no seniority anymore (have to get up at 12Mid St Louis time 365 days in advance to request to get a day off. They advertise they have paid holidays, but the employee can not get an extra day off during the wk if your normal day off is the paid Holiday.(no extra day); Higher paid employees pay more for health insurance to subsidize lower paid employees. (same insurance, why pay more ???) Monitors for those on the phone, with rules changing every 1-3 mos. Employees are scored down for petty things, esp if they do not like your voice quality. "did you say please 3x?", did say their name 3x during the call? They pay people for this, reward them. If you disagree, complain--goes against. Phone quality is poor, (you have to talk to callers w/hearing challenges..what about that?), problems w/software, computers...No you do not want to work here. You will go home crying. They have also cut pay for many positions 10-25%, it shows in the quality of many employees. Many good ones are quietly leaving

Pros

Post merger NONE with the exception of the 401k and the dozen or so good employees left.

Cons

This just goes to show you what kind of company we are dealing with. ESI gets voted the WORST co. to work for in the US after being rated second worst two years in a row, and then a bunch of bizarre 4 and 5 star ratings begin to appear on GD. Reviews are all posted around mid-July and all written in the same sentence structure. Does ESI really think people are that clueless?? It's obvious that ESI can no longer attract good talent, and most of the talented people have already left running for their lives. The word is out there. Nobody wants to work for a company like this, especially when there are so many better organizations out there without a horrendous reputation. If you value life, and your well being do NOT even bother applying to ESI. I can't even to begin to describe the things I experienced while I was there, and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy's dog. A very scary environment IMHO.
