      It's a new day

      Pros

      New leadership has set a positive vision and tone for the company, from investing in wellness and professional development programs to allowing jeans all summer long (and maybe beyond!). Great people. Everyone I've worked with wants to pitch in, shows passion for the company and their job, and is willing to go above and beyond. A driven group of professionals.

      Cons

      The company runs lean - if you're looking for lots of outside consultant help, easy approval to add positions, or lots of warm and fuzzy perks, this isn't the place. If you want to contribute and are willing to work for results - even if it means putting in some weekend and evening hours during peak times - then you'll fit right in.

      Culture Shift

      Pros

      There has been a slow, but noticeable culture shift at Express Scripts. I started here as an intern in 2010 and have worked my way up to management level. When I began here there was a 'head-down' culture. People did their work (regularly 9-10 hr days) and didn't complain. In the last year that has changed dramatically. There is still an emphasis on performance and you absolutely have to work hard to succeed at Express Scripts, but I can finally say that there IS work-life balance.

      Cons

      You have to work hard. I find it pathetic to place this as a con, but the majority of working professionals in America have no idea what that means and can't stand up to the pressure of a job that demands hard work.

      Renewed focus on talent and culture

      Pros

      Express Scripts is a high-energy, fast-paced company. That isn't changing, but within the last year there has been a clear pivot to refocus on investing in talent and creating a culture where employees feel valued and have opportunity to meet their career goals.

      Cons

      Not necessarily a con, but all about fit - if you don't enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift regularly, Express Scripts may not be the right place for you.
